Hey guys, I have a bunch of old metal 40k stuff. I have two of the old metal predators, a bunch of the old metal razorbacks, as well as some RT era terminators. How much are they worth? I also have a lot of really old metal bikes, attack bikes, a metal dreadnought, and some really old HQ units from 2nd edition. Also some other things, I'll take pics once I get home. Are they worth anything? Or are they best left as is on my shelf?

Short answer; Ebay
long answer: Check Ebay
Less Snarky answer:
The metal dreadnoughts are rare but they're practically identical to the modern ones. The razorbacks might be worthwhile if they have some of the rarer turret options.
I personally wouldn't mind more termies, but you're too far away to organise a trade that wouldn't make the postal service richer than either of us

Some people find the idea that other people can be happy offensive, and will prefer causing harm to self improvement. |

Most metal doesn't seem to go for very much on eBay from what I've seen, aside from certain rarer pieces. Probably worth checking incase you do have anything valuable though.
Personally I wouldn't buy metal, as I think for the most part the modern sculpts are much better, and I can't be bothered with the weight... And I don't like painting on to metal. Yeah, I'm pretty down on metal!

A thing is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it and if it's not unique or collectible then it won't be worth much at all.

Few older models are worth much. The only ones that immediately jump to mind are the old Kasrkin and 3E Daemonettes. Most other stuff isn't terribly sought after.

The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts. |

I own an old metal dreadnought, about 10 early 90s metal terminators (and metal jump pack marines from early 90s) and i got them for basically £20 for all of it. I recently sold some early rogue trader marines basically like £7.

As others said, not necessarily big money items, but there's definitely interest in 'Oldhammer' models. I am into collecting metal Marine stuff... I'll rescue just about any metal Terminator I come across. Haven't ventured too far into the vehicles yet. If you're not using them, you could definitely price them competitively and move them.

My Razorbacks are all lascannon. I also have a vindicator, from when the front dozed blade didnt cover the front, only the bottom. I also have a lascannon sponson autocannon metal predator so there's that.

They tend to sell better if unpainted, or at least stripped. Female figures sell better than male. Dreadnoughts are smaller than current models, so would be the 'Oldhammer' market you'd be looking at.

Depends on the era of the dread:
The first two are metal, but only one could be considered “practically identical” The middle one is close enough that you can’t tell the difference until it’s put in a sock and used to beat the TFG out of you.

If I had any available storage space, I would go for the Predator and the Razorback. Unfortunately, the house is too full of minis. :(

The value simply depends massively on what you have, how old, and how rare.
I sell and buy a ton of Oldhammer and metal stuff --- it just depends on the figure. Generally speaking new, or very well stripped stuff with the all the components sells best (obviously). Basic space marines won't sell nearly as well as characters or obviously out-of-production stuff. A lot of lines which went to Finecast will sell at a premium in metal...because Finecast is garbage and a lot of folks want the more solid option.

The only metals you usually see going for lots on eBay are three categories:
1) they changed the design and people hate it (Flayed ones)
2) they are the metal versions replaced by failcast, esp. if they're an army that got little time with metal (Dark Eldar, Aspect Warriors, etc)
3) they're a really timeless classic design that no longer exists (vostroyan limited stuff, old jabba the hurt Genestealer patriarch)

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"
"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"
"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"
"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!" |
