I would like to add tough riders to my guard army, however, I really don't like the price tag on them... So I am looking to convert them. Looking for some decent economical ideas for a kitbash/conversion. Any assistance is welcome. Did some googling but wasn't finding ideas I like.

Empire Pistoliers/Outriders are the de facto "must have" for them at the moment if you're not willing to shell out for Krieg Death Riders(which are superior in terms of sculpts and rules anyways).

I have mine mounted on Fantasy Dark Elf Cold Ones. Dino-riders are real!!! Also Victoria Lamb has some decent RR sculpts if you need riders.

I ordered some of the Light Bikers from Puppetswar.com ( https://puppetswar.eu/img/p/94-805-thickbox.jpg ) PW was even willing to let me swap the heads for their Desert heads for my Tallarn force.

28mm historics have options  like these for perry. 20 pounds for 12ish alternatively  ww2 dudes on bikes could be used as a base but scale may vary.

I used cold ones and Praetorian riders from Victoria's Minis, not the cheapest but the quality is top notch.

Perry miniatures light cavalry horses look great when combined with cadian torsos. They are quite cheap per horse, nice and detailed and they come with lances. I would recommend!
