Subject: Advance after deep striking?

I'm sure this has been covered ad nauseum somewhere but I can't seem to find an answer.
Can you Advance after you have entered play from Reserves via deep strike (or whatever it's called for whatever unit we're talking about)?

No, because you decide if you want to advance when moving.
Deep Strike and similar abilities happen at the end of the moving phase and then you can no longer move.

Okay, thank you. I've seen so many videos online lately talking about the new Tyranid codex and there's all sorts of people saying that you can Advance even if you came in from Reserves via "Deep Strike".

Those people are either wrong or talking about the "Onslaught" psychic power, which lets a unit move and advance in the Psychic phase and retain the ability to shoot (provided they didn't also advance in the movement phase) and charge. The Swarmlord also has a special rule that takes place in the Shooting Phase.

This is wrong. Onslought doesn't give you a new move/advance. It only removes the penalties for moving/advancing for heavy/assault/ and charging.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

AM officers with voice of command can give orders to deepstriked units to move and advance in the shooting phase.

And technically speaking, all Advancing does is add on to the Movement stat, it is not an additional move like Running/Turboboost/etc used to be.
If you cannot use your Movement Stat at all, what use is adding on to it?
