As the topic says, I have several converted Obliterators that need to be stripped and repainted. However I wasn't able to strip them before the work was done due to a tournament I needed them for and I'm not worried I'll ruin all the modelling work. Usually I go with Purple Power for stripping and just leave the models in for 24 hours but I haven't tested it, or anything, with green stuff.

Does anyone have experience with that, maybe a particular brand that would not be harmful? Or am I just screwed?

It won't hurt the green stuff, but it may loosen the bond between the green stuff and the model. If you keep everything intact, you can just glue any green stuff parts that come off back in place afterwards.

I stripped with the purple stuff, and the green stuff I was using to keep them on the bases was pretty much unaffected, though it did change color. I haven't stripped anything that had green stuff on details, though.

This might be easier said than done - I recently stripped my Great Unclean One who had a lot of green stuff to fill gaps (quite roughly sculpted to match the skin) and it did indeed peel off "intact", but I wouldn't for the life of me be able to glue it back on as neatly as it was originally applied.

How extensive are the conversions? Simple Green will definitely break the bond between the green stuff and the model.
