Death Guard Battalion - Typhus, 175pts - Daemon Prince of Nurgle, 180pts wings, daemonic axe - 10 Poxwalkers, 60pts - 10 Poxwalkers, 60pts - 16 Chaos Cultists, 64 pts - Plagueburst Crawler, 140pts 2x plaguespitter, heavy slugger - Plagueburst Crawler, 140pts 2x plaguespitter, heavy slugger - Plagueburst Crawler, 140pts 2x plaguespitter, heavy slugger Heretic Astartes Outrider Detachment - Daemon Prince, 180pts wings, daemonic axe, MoS, Warptime, Warlord, Intoxicating Elixir, Exalted Champion - Hellforged Dreadclaw Drop Pod, 130pts - Hellforged Dreadclaw Drop Pod, 130pts - Hellforged Dreadclaw Drop Pod, 130pts Death Guard Super-Heavy Auxilliary Detachment - Mortarion, 470pts Total 1999pts The Poxwalkers get in Dreadclaws and drop in with Typhus, after which the Dreadclaws act basically as Bloat Drones shooting their flamers left and right and charging and tying shooty enemies in CC. Mortarion does his basic tricks and tries to get to charge first turn thanks to Warptime. Crawlers get in or hold objectives with their incredibly nasty S7 twin heavy flamers and are just unbelievably hard to kill. Daemon Princes act as can openers and last but not least the Cultists are there to screen against backfield drops and hold objectives. All comments and suggestions are welcome, what do you guys think, could it work in competitive setting?

Not bad. I don’t like the spitters on the PBCs. If you want to go that route use the bloated drones which have the fly keyword.

I like the list. I would however go with 3 bloat drones over the drop pods. Here is why. The bloat drones are cheaper with Death spitters. They move. They are Death Guard and you can put them in your battalion and that allows you to put the demon prince in your battalion and take the superating plate easily the best war gear in the game currently. Lastly, you don’t need them. You have enough poxwalkers to daisy chain them and cover the board and still be within range of Typhus. Also, don’t bother taking the axe for the prince. Just take double talons.

drop pods arent really drones. 1st they hit anything (friend of foe ) at 6", then they have only range of 6", not sure if they got point correction but look like drop pods cost 200 not 130.

130 in chapter approved.
They look alright but I can't see a use for an empty one ... and find podding poxwalkers very questionable..
But would love to see how this list does

Disappointed at the lack of Helbrutes in a Death Guard list titled "fast"

Does it take in account the weapons? I hope yes, but it does not sound right to me.

Generic characters disappearing? Elite units of your army losing options and customizations? No longer finding that motivation to convert?

Hello again everyone, thanks for the feedback and comments. Haven't had time to reply but I tinkered a little with the list and here is the latest version:
Death Guard Battalion
- Typhus, 175pts
- Daemon Prince of Nurgle, 180pts
wings, daemonic axe, Warlord, Rotten Constitution, The Suppurating Plate
- 10 Poxwalkers, 60pts
- 10 Poxwalkers, 60pts
- 6 Plague Marines, 141pts
3x plasma gun
Chaos Outrider Detachment
- Daemon Prince, 180pts
wings, daemonic axe, MoN, Warptime
- Hellforged Dreadclaw Drop Pod, 130pts
- Hellforged Dreadclaw Drop Pod, 130pts
- Foetid Bloat-drone, 158pts
2x plaguespitter
- Foetid Bloat-drone, 158pts
2x plaguespitter
- Foetid Bloat-drone, 158pts
2x plaguespitter
Death Guard Super-Heavy Auxilliary Detachment
- Mortarion, 470pts
Total 2000pts
First of all, the daemonic axes are there because I fave plenty of ways to get rid of hordes but I lack seriously on AT department if you don't count Mortarion (which you can't really rely on, he is THE target, always). The axes outshine dual talons on virtually every possible target with more than 2 wounds.
I took the squad of Marines to help a little with tanks and while I'd like to run 3 pods, I can't deepstrike that much due to reserves limits. 99% of the time I'm gotta footslog them up and have Poxwalkers in pods but if I expect a heavy alpha strike from an army that I can't afford to lose my Marines against, I might put them in one pod.
What comes to Dreadclaws themselves, on paper they are bonkers. Deepstriking flying Rhino that shoots heavy flamers on steroids and ties pesky enemies in CC. Combine that with the fact that the rest of my army is flying 15" a turn, suddenly I can take my troops with me and hit the enemy with everything on turn 2.
I am still in the process of acquiring the models but on paper the idea of dropping the Poxwalkers feels like a no-brainer. Instead of using the gimmicky strat of undying horde of Cultists Walkers and Typhus footslogging through the battlefield for three turns, burning all your CP and costing more points and relying on you going first, I get to drop the right in front (or even better, behind) my enemies. Typhus gets to fight once in a while instead of going 5" a turn and being 175pt buff aura. And if your opponent commits on taking down all your Walkers before they get to CC good for you, that's a lot of fire power used on 120pts worth of chaff instead of going on Mortarion or Drones. And lastly in case your opponent either ignores them or fails to take them all down you can pop Dead Walk Again on turn 2, walk next to your opponents infantry line and let the rest of your army do the heavy lifting, suddenly your one lone Poxwalker turns into a horde surrounding all of his army.
And lastly I have used the CA points for this army so that's why the pods are 130pts (yes, the gear is for free) and the Marines are a little cheaper.
Again thank you all for comments and I wait to hear more.
