So after starting a 30k force of my favortie legion, the Thousand Sons, I thought why not play them in 40k as well. Asked my friends about i and they said cool and by that evening I was walking out of my FLGS with the Index Chaos + CSM Codex in hand. Reading through the later I noticed that there was no points cost for the rubricare sorcerer. Figuring that this was a typo I downloaded and checked the FAQ no mention. Ok werid, but that was released a couple of months ago. Next I tried the leaks from Chapter Approved, which changed the point on Exalted, but not give one to rubricare sorcerors. Ummm.... Am I missing something or are these squad leaders indeed free, minus warger?

Squad leaders cost the same as a regular trooper. They just get some bonus stats. You still pay for their wargear as normal.

For me, the joy is in putting some good-looking models on the board and playing out a fantasy battle - not arguing over the poorly-made rules of some 3rd party who neither has any power over my play nor will be visiting me (and my opponent) to ensure we are "playing by the rules"

In 8th ed, most "sargeant" type models (the squad leader who comes in the same box as the squad) are priced the same as the rest of the unit. I figure they assume it would be a whole ton of extra points to look up if models within a unit cost different amounts.

If that's not what rubricae sorcerors are, I apologise.

That's what they are. But in the index they are given an individual cost, while in the codex they aren't. So is it a printing mistake in the codex or a deliberate change? Who knows.

One must assume.. there have been ample opportunities to address it.

Deliberate change, for sure, I would say.

AFAIK with the exception of Wolf Guard Pack Leaders in Terminator Armour, all "sergeants" cost the same as the normal dude.
