Are there camels in 40k? For my Tallarn Rough Riders

Just curious if there are any reference to camels in the year 40k, I’d like to put my Tallarn Rough Riders on mounts that give that desert feel.

I’m also looking for camels or mukaali minis to mount my Riders on, if anyone has a source or know where they could be found.

The galaxy is a giant place. If theres horse or xeno/mutated equivalents, theres camels/xeno/mutated equivalent.

well, if you do a G seartch you will find a decent amount of hits, but the thing that strikes me as an issue here is scale.

moust 28mm camels out there are true scale. 40k is moustly heroic scale.

Don't worry about the official line. It's your army, so if you want camels, you should have camels!

However, both companies sell them with riders included, and as FrozenDwarf has pointed out, will be truescale.

Yes, there are 40k camels. I know because I once modelled my Tallarn Rough Riders on them too!

I can't remember the company I bought them from (it might even have been eBay) but if you Google 28mm or 30mm camel I'm sure something will come up. The only issue I had is they weren't quite to scale and I had to sculpt a saddle out of green stuff but they looked pretty decent when finished.

Sorry not to be of more help but the idea is definitely feasible.

They certainly could. whether they exist on Tallarn or not is another question.

but ultimately who cares

call them some other scifi world name rough riders and call it a day.

Black Tree Design make some pretty huge "28mm" camels .
