So, awhile ago, I posted about how Character Matching instead of weapon-scoped keywords results in bad future-proofing, and...well, it happened.

There are several Stratagems in Chapter Approved to let Infantry models use the Haemotrope Reactor or Fuel Relay to benefit "plasma" and "flame" weapons (And skorchas and burnas), based on a regex match (has "plasma" or "flame" in its name).

Although the Infantry keyword prevents debates over whether a Bioplasmic Cannon is Plasma (though apparently, neither Starcannons nor Kustom Mega-Blastas are plasma), one amusing side effect is that Pink Horrors, whom use Coruscating Flames, now have an effective range of 36 with their lasgun-grade weapons, and Promethium can literally fuel the raw stuff of change with Flickering Flames! Your guess as to whether an Icon of Flame can now "shoot", since it technically isn't a weapon yet deals Mortal Wounds, and it's "any" weapon with "flame" in its name. Ditto whether a Kombi-Skorcha would work, since there is no regex qualifier for Burnas or Skorchas.

Given a group of horrors once turned a Tyranid Bio-pool into a massive pool of flammable unknown warp liquid that they immediately made explode.. Them doing weird things with Reactor Fuel or standard Fuel to enhance themselves is not really that out of the ordinary.

It is admittedly funny the redshirt Horrors and Flamers can do it, but Exalted Flamers cannot do it, since apparently Pink and Blue Fire does not leave "flame" behind.

That is kinda funny, apparently having about seven colors worth of fire Tzeentch has unintentionally screwed over a few of his minions.
