How to play games with smaller points? What rules to use? Just kill points? Or to add 2 vanilla objectives in the middle?
How do you play low pts games?

I find most of the missions work well at lower points games, possibly even better than higher points games. It's harder to score first blood, slay the warlord, and linebreaker at lower points levels. It's harder to achieve all the objectives. It's just more difficult overall, and very satisfying. This applies both to Eternal War and Maelstrom.

The standard game types have worked fine.

Though they tend to go to one side being completely wiped out, so do larger games.

Guardsmen, hear me! Cadia may lie in ruin, but her proud people do not! For each brother and sister who gave their lives to Him as martyrs, we will reap a vengeance fiftyfold! Cadia may be no more, but will never be forgotten; our foes shall tremble in fear at the name, for their doom shall come from the barrels of Cadian guns, fired by Cadian hands! Forward, for vengeance and retribution, in His name and the names of our fallen comrades!

I play 750-1000 pt game's all the time. Standard rules work fine, but a smaller battlefield is also used (4x6 instead of 4x8). Smaller games really allow your more basic units to shine.

Get the Open War deck - the objectives/missions included are quite dumbed down and simple. Should work well for smaller games. We play mini-tournaments at 35 power level at the local club and it's quite fun since it's tough to abuse.

A great deal of fun, also I don't touch on table size all time. It's fun when outmoving your opponent doesn't just mean go forwards faster.

Seconded, the Open War deck is very cool, lots of interesting little twists in there. I played 8 games with a friend of mine trying various combinations of GSC vs CSM at 750-1000 points over the course of a Saturday using the deck, it was a lot of fun. Sometimes the cards won't come into play because the conditions necessary aren't met, but still a lot of fun.
