So I just read an "article" on Faeit with "stats" for Leman russ in 8th as a demon primarch of Khorne.
Sounds like someone sent in their fan version of Dornian heresy Character as a genuine rumour.
(awesome lore project flipping who remained loyal and who turned traitor, it is worth a read).

This got me wondering tough what is the most ridiculous rumour you have ever heard concerning warhammer?

edit: there was already a thread on the russ thing so discuss that there.

Every alleged SoB release rumour is pretty darned outlandish. Yet they just keep coming.

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.

I heard 8th edition was the most playtested edition ever.

For me it was the supposed introduction of Super Heavies into regular games of 40k - only the most incompetent designers would think that was a good idea for the game.

Oh wait.

I like the cut of your jib, friend.

I think it was the rumor about super heavy flyers being a part of a platoon level skirmish game, though...

This edition is designed for balance, not just as a marketing tool to sell the new more expensive models...
Oh wait, does this count as a rumor or just standard rhetoric?

Sanguinius is the next Primarch coming back to 40K.

Enough retcon of the fluff almost makes it sound plausible.

I would love for this to be true. It's actually a pretty cool twist. Then set up the Lion to be a monster slayer hero.

But it would alienate the Space Wolf players who would be the only ones to buy Leman Russ so No, doubt they would.

Imagine my shock. The primary motivation of a company in a capitalist society is to generate revenue.

Maybe we should complain to Kim Jong Un about it.

Bow down to Guilliman for he is our new God Emperor!

Martel - "Custodes are terrible in 8th. Good luck with them. They take all the problems of marines and multiply them."

"Lol, classic martel. 'I know it was strong enough to podium in the biggest tournament in the world but I refuse to acknowledge space marines are good because I can't win with them and it can't possibly be ME'."

DakkaDakka is really the place where you need anti-tank guns to kill basic dudes, because anything less isn't durable enough.

As recent as last week a group of people tried to convince me that Games Workshop is a game company. I laughed so hard that I coughed, sticky phlegm roping out of my mouth. After I regained my composure I tried to explain to them how Games Workshop has always been a hobby company that specializes in creating wonderful models at premium prices. The printed material is merely fantasy writing so people can imagine what their carefully painted models would look like in epic battles, and for setting up model porn. At this point please Google "model porn" if you do not know what I am talking about. At any rate, they did not believe me, in fact they feigned obtuse responses and offered me Kool-Aide. I declined of course. Despite all of this I am still curious about some hidden game being made by Games Workshop. Call me crazy but maybe, just maybe because it is Christmas, there will be a miracle, and a game will be born...

Paradigm for a happy relationship with Games Workshop: Burn the books and take the models to a different game.

8th was going to make everyone happy with it. Which is just a dumb claim because everyone wants different things.

Between 2nd and 3rd edition, I was hearing all manner of crazy stories. In the new game, the Emperor is dead, and he’s a chaos god, so Sisters of Battle have angel wings and magical powers. Space marines are devastated and fractured, so your army might have a marine from this or that chapter in an ad-hoc formation, and the game would be so small that you had to track every bolster round remaining, as they were precious.

I was new to the game, and it was my first exposure to “sometimes, people just make stuff up.”

Of course, I’ve heard crazier rumors that turned out true... there are giant dreadnoughts, and imperial guard dropships, and even primarchs running around.

Slaanesh will have a comeback in all his/her perverse glory. This means we will see a big model release for the Emperors Children akin to that of the Death Guard legion.

Slaanesh isn't really coming back from anything though. It didn't go anywhere.
