I frequently play against a thousand sons player who plays with magnus every list. Which has been ok with morty to combat him. However I don't like using morty in every list. So my question is can 3 deathshroud termies and typhus reliably take down magnus

Doubt it, smite will rip the termies up as they sit at 2 wounds each. Also how would you ever get next to him first? Your movement is gimped so you are stuck assuming he already has weaver in place and is charging you (I would guess).

My goal would be to deepstrike and use a cp reroll for the 9in charge

Between the chance you miss the charge and the chance he bubble wraps effectively I'm not sure you'll be super happy with the reliability there, game to game. Try it out and see though, that's always best.

He knows that I know and you know that he actually doesn't know the rules at all.

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

Best way to take down Magnus is with massed ranged fire, it'll only take 2 or 3 turns to take down Magnus with massed S8+. I once played against a guard player who took him down in a single turn, and in another game Magnus got sucked into a Vendetta's turbine as it crashed.

A 4++ re-rolling 1s on a T7 model that can't hide behind other models isn't overly tough, though if he gets a 3++ off then it's a little harder...

In which case it depends on your opponent. If he is not appropriately bubble wrapping his units then this can be used over and over, although still you are relying (at best) on hitting a 9 inch charge with 2 units that are deepstriked in position which does not seem "reliable" as you put it.

You don't need the high AP against him as much as high damage. Things like Autocannons would work well here, like on Predators for example. Don't know what else fits that theme though as I don't own the Death Guard codex.

Well sadly I do not have any predators at the present moment. I do have 2 sicarans. Do you think they will be able to fill the roll

8 shots not relying on AP, does two Damage, ignores any -1 to hit from Fliers.

I'd say totally give it a shot.
