A Protoss colony world

I use a Battlefoam P.A.C.K. 720 case and it has served me well for 3 years. I do need to get more trays that can fit my much larger collection, but that's on me rather than the company.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700
Check out my P&M Blogs: ZergSmasher's P&M Blog | Imperial Knights blog | Board Games blog | Total models painted in 2024: 40 | Total models painted in 2025: 40 | Current main painting project: Tomb Kings

The Grotsnik Corp Bump Feelerer 9,000. It only looks like several bricks crudely gaffer taped to a cricket bat.
Grotsnik Corp. Sorry, No Refunds.

Its entirely doable and sabol foam is pretty cheap.

make it in the style of like an old school wooden ammo crate for extra cool.

Well, duh, otherwise it defeats the purpose.
Looking cool is the purpose of all 40K right?

While I was in the US I used Battlefoam for most of my transporting, and Plano plastic storage cases for, well storage. Now with my cases in storage, I've been using a local version of the Plano cases to carry my SoB around. So far, they've spent extended time in my trunk on country and mountain roads with no damage to the models or paint!

I am however going to be picking up another BF case. The first I'll be buying directly from BF (my others were stocked by my FLGS).

Tablewar cases are quite nice, if a little pricey

Ive been dabbling with the idea of just making a 40K box out of wood, and filling it with pick n pluck. Thoughts on this?
It would mean that I can size it exactly to my needs.

I built one, but with adjustable magnetic shelves (like what army-case produces).
It's okay for storing, but not great for transport. It's pretty heavy, and even with a strap it's a hassle to transport (having a heavy wooden box resting on your side isn't the best feeling). But I usually take the subway and walk quite a bit when moving with my minis. If you drive and just have to move the box from the trunk to the shop/friend's house, then I guess it could work (and look cool).

Add wheels. Like suitcases.

I don't want the best army, just one that isn't an exercise in picking up my models by turn 3.

The game doesn't need super space marines, it needs more variety.

It doesn't matter if you're not dominating the game; if you have 3-4 x as many models and options than the rest of us and you're still getting new kits, we're still gonna rip on the faction. If I had 100 + Drukhari kits all in plastic to choose from, or 100 + Sisters kits, I think I'd be more likely to be receptive to Space Marine player's complaints about anything.
