Nah, but now that I have your attention let's discuss fun stuff.

It seems clear that we'll be getting the full Daemon, CSM, and a Thousand Sons lore.

My particular focus is on Gateway, Cabalistic Focus, and Magnus.

I don't know precisely HOW this will play out yet and it certainly won't work against every army, but the ones with lots bubble wrap and a tight deployment zone (IG) would suffer the most. You would need Magnus in range and two other TS psykers within 6" of him. Likely exalted sorcs on discs. Target the big bubble wrap unit (make sure it's the closest model anyway) and let loose.

Magnus plus the strat is +4 to cast gives us 42% chance to get D6 wounds on the chaff plus any unit dumb enough to be within 3" of it - support characters, tanks, etc. Those dark reapers maybe if they're too close?

In any case i'm going to make the claim that Cabalistic Focus might wind up being one of our better stratagems.

the fact that 1k sons got so much while GKs got so little frustrates me, not gonna lie

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

Wow, a derail on the second post. That might be a new record.

For that type of trick, dropping Voldus or a small unit of Paladins (or both in subsequent turns) in for a stratagem-buffed use of Vortex on the enemy with the biggest footprint/most units nearby makes the TS trick above look like kindergarten-stuff.

People need to get over their Grey Knight funk (and/or the obsession of only trying charging NDK Grand Masters with the book). It's a surprisingly solid Codex once you realise that 9" charges even with re-roll isn't reliable enough to build a list around and stop attempting to play them as silvery Blood Angels.

Well, it IS kind of hard to change the subject in the first post. I think second post will be as good as it can ever be.

Read Infernal Gateway again.

Range is measured from closest MODEL, not UNIT. That means it's highly unlikely to hit another unit after the initial target.

Try reading the entire text block, daedalus. You might find a surprise inside.

Ah, ok. Fair enough. It's a little oddly stated, but I can buy that, because it could be a little strong otherwise. My bad.
