I have two situations during the charge/fight phase I'm hoping you folks can help answer. First, according to this excerpt from the battle primer (pg 7, 5.Fight Phase, 1. Choose Unit to Fight With):
Any unit that CHARGED or HAS MODELS WITHIN 1" of an enemy unit can be chosen to fight in the Fight Phase.

So based off that, the following situation should be true:

Two units successfully charge a target in the charge phase. In the fight phase the first unit does the following sequence:
1) PILE-IN up to 3" towards the target enemy unit
2) FIGHT and successfully KILL the target enemy unit
3) CONSOLIDATE up to 3" towards the nearest enemy unit

The second unit, despite no longer being within 1" of an enemy unit, does the following sequence:
1) PILE-IN towards the nearest enemy unit
2) It is too far away to FIGHT the nearest enemy unit, and cannot attack anything, so it then
3) CONSOLIDATES up to 3" towards the nearest enemy unit

So, as I'm interpreting it, this means that the second unit would essentially get a 6" move towards the nearest enemy unit during the Fight Phase. My interpretation from RAW is that this is the correct sequence, am I wrong or right?

Secondly, and this should be an easy one, if I declare a charge on a transport unit that kills itself during overwatch (i.e. plasma overcharge), can I still charge it/or the unit it's carrying? My assumption is no, I cannot, the because the unit no longer exists, and I cannot declare the charge on the unit within the transport, as they do not exist on the board. Is this correct?

Yes that is correct, with both movements being optional and not requiring you to move directly towards the closest, just end up closer.

The 2nd unit doesn't get to fight unless it charged. Since it did charge, it goes though the full fight list as you described. If it hadn't charged, it couldn't do anything.

Again, correct. The unit is gone. Keep in mind you roll the distance after all overwatch is resolved, so the best thing to do is multicharge, weather the overwatch to see what happens, then roll for distance and decide which ones (if any) are in range.
