I saw something like this in a WD once and wanted to do it since the second I saw it. Well, now I did it. Although I did change a few things.

Spoiler:

I pinned each of those spikes and then wrapped the barbed wire around it. I actually made a big ol' string of some much better looking Nurgle's Rope, but realized immediately that it would scratch the paint off the statue too much when installing it, so used the same wire that GW used.
Spoiler:

Blinded, thus ritually blinding the Imperium of Man.

Spoiler:

The WD article pointed out that chaos bois probably wouldn't be able to resist taking a few potshots at the statue.

Spoiler:

I wanted to have some "fresh offerings" along with the stains from previous offerings.

Spoiler:

Even when a Guardsman's been disarmed, he retains his trusty Lasgun!

Spoiler:

The back. Kind of low effort tbh.

I probably won't bother recreating the desecrated shattered Aquilla that comes with it - I don't want to bother making all the candles, and no way will I be able to find a big ol' Defiler icon.

I like it. A cool idea, and solid execution.

Very nice scenery! Very grim and grimy. May I know how you achieved the fine rust effects?

Sure. I used weathering powder, specifically the first release by Forge World. I imagine you can use any brand and it will look the same, though.
