Wondering if anyone has had this problem with the easy to build models. They do not seem to accept the primer as well as normal plastic minis. I have been working with the Death Guard models and besides the fact that I'm trying to prime a green model with green spray paint which means I cannot easily determine spots Ive missed. Once I start to paint the model the basecoat are not taking as well as I'm use to. The paint seems to be sliding off and not adhering to the model well. Its taken many more coats then I'm used to. Is this a common problem or did I just get a bad batch?

you might've just gotten a batch with some extra mould release on it. while the minis are still on the sprue, just give them a bath of soapy water and a light scrub with a toothbrush.

Did you wash the model? Are you using paint or primer?

I used death guard green primer. I didn't think about washing them but that is a possibility. I haven't washed sprus in forever but maybe its necessary with these models. Not sure but it seems like a different kind of plastic they are using for these ETB models.

Death Guard Green isn't primer, it's paint. First, strip off all the paint you have on them. Wash it with warm water with a very little drop of dish soap (they might have release on them). Then rinse to make sure all the soap is off. I would prime it black with an actual primer then spray your deathguard green over that.

I don't disagree but ive seen many painting guides using the DG green spray as a primer. Seems to work ok for the other models but I'll try your suggestion.

It works fine as a base coat.
Look even at gws description of the product.
https://www.games-workshop.com/en-NO/Citadel-death-guard-green-spray-2017
Death Guard Green Spray is designed for basecoating all Citadel miniatures. When sprayed over an undercoat, it's a fast way to get a uniform base of colour onto your models.
That suggested undercoat is primer. Citadel paints are ment to be a quick even base color and nothing else.
