Hi guys, just a quick question, how are the finecast products looking nowadays? I'm hoping to include some incubi in a ynnari force and if they don't get a plastic kit with the dark eldar codex I might have to look at getting some in finecast although I got some when the range switched over and the models were awful and put me off from buying finecast ever again, I usually hunt for metal versions on eBay.
Cheers!

I got some finecast Incubi and Mandrakes, and they were both okay. The Mandrakes were pretty much perfect, no air bubbles or anything.

However, I suspect I was just lucky. I've had other finecast models that were so bad I should have taken them back to the shop and had a refund rather than spending hours filling in air bubbles with green stuff.

Finecast is a total crap shoot. It's also all web exclusive while they burn through the last of their stocks apparently. If your gunna try to get any get them off ebay. Otherwise try to kitbash/convert units.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

Do NOT buy finecast sight unseen. You want to take a good, hard look at it before paying GW prices for it.

Yep, or I suppose if you order from the website - have it shipped to a local GW store so you can check it before taking receipt? I don't know if that works.

Go into the shop, place the order via the webstore terminal and have it delivered to the shop. That makes it so that it 'counts' as a sale for the manager rather than the webstore.

Most managers will open the stuff once it gets delivered(it comes in an unwrapped white mail order box) and if they see issues, the good ones will take over and file a complaint with Customer Service for you.

Sounds good. I simply don't put up with Finecast, but if you need to - that's probably the way to do it.

Thanks for the advice guys, I've stayed as far away from it as possible and if there's no plastic kit any time soon I might look at combining the old wild wood rangers glaives with kabalite warriors.

I know the older models are still in finecast, but some of the newer ones are in resin, how do you tell the difference? Before buying I mean lol Or is all GW finecast and only FW stuffs in resin?

Finecast is resin, or a type of resin at least. Forgeworld's resin is a lot better.

Finecast is resin. Real cheap cheap poorly produced resin.
