How to model 4 weapons on your Tau commander? It looks like it's only made for 2. Why would GW make a loudout you can't model properly?

You can attach on to the outside of the arm and underside of the arm. X2. 4 weapons.

I put two on the jet pods as I would with a crisis ream, there are indents in the so I assumed that’s where they went.....

Might want to wait for the new codex to come out and see if anything changed, might not be allowed four weapons anymore or something else might be added or taken away. Otherwise you can always use magnets for weapon swaps.

At this risk of getting off-topic and/or into YMDC territory, wasn't the eventual answer that if options aren't in the codex but are in the index, just take them with index rules at codex prices?

Wargear options. Not just options. If the new datasheet says commanders can take 2 pieces of wargear instead of 4 then all they get is 2. If the wargear they can choose for whatever reason gets reduced then you can pick the options available to them from the index.
