I’m thinking up some fluff for a Chaos Marine warband, maybe I imagine that at full size it’s 5,000pts worth. So they’re flying around in a warp capable ship attacking bits of the Imperium, but what class of ship would it be?
I’ve played Battlefleet Gothic but even smaller ships like the Murder Class seem far too big for a force that size. If you were an independent marine warlord, what would be your pimpin’ space ride?

Thanks in advance,
Thunderforge

Iconoclast?

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.

Thanks Noise Marine! I’ve just read the wiki for it and looks exactly the class of ship I am after.
Hope the tinnitus clears up!

Marine strike cruisers looks to be around 4km length or so(maybe tad smaller) carrying company of marines inside it. Chaos cruisers are around 5k. So if you think your warband is around company(100 marines) or so length not that unreasonable actually. Remember also all the cultists and probably thousands of crew to drive the ship around.

That or settle for escort but do those have enough launch bays to get your guys to the planet in reasonable time?

Whatever they damn well like. Don't take numbers into account, for example Bile's ship, the Vesalius which is a repurposed Imperial Gladius frigate is far too large for the actual marines in it and 90% of the ship's population is a subculture of Vat born and mutants.
