Looking pretty good, you're definitely on track. I would really consider at least washing the head and shoulders though.

I don't know if it's my monitor's color settings or even my color blindness getting in the way, but is the helmet just pure white?
I agree with the washing to bring out more depth in the mini. It's a decent tabletop paint job otherwise.
Oh, and you did a really good job on the base!

How do you wash white?
I build up Celestial Grey, Ulthuan Grey and white edge highlights.

You can use nuln oil on things like armour, thinned drakenhoff nightshade on robes for a cold white effect. Otherwise, you can use a bone colour to create a yellowed linen effect.

I've seen many people use blue and I always feel like it looks pretty sharp.

Ah. I'm guessing it's a warmer color, which is probably why it looks white to me.
Oh, you know what? That's the renamed version of old Deneb Stone. I would try a base of that, followed by a Seraphim Sepia wash, followed by painting back the flat surfaces with Rakarth Flesh, followed by white highlights.
I get the technical aspects behind painting, but like I said earlier, I'm colorblind. Automatically Appended Next Post: Did a quick test of what I'm trying to describe. I'm not sure if the Sepia is a good choice after all, but here it is:

Buttons Should Be Brass, Not Gold!

I think the issue with the helmet is that the blue parts are too close in tone with the white. If you run a thin line of a darker blue along the edges of the blue areas where it meets the white, it will create a stronger contrast.
It is a bit of a rubbish example, but the blue light on the wrist of this line trooper uses that effect.

i've put some baharoth blue glaze into all the blue. it darkend it down quiet a bit and it looks better now
the problem with shading the head is that it has near to no recesses.
