Just doing my morning catch up with the sports news on Sky and Conquest had a 30 second TV advert on, makes sense with today being the street date for issue 1.

Seems me delivery should be here soon, as it was processed on 24th August. Automatically Appended Next Post: judgedoug wrote:I suppose there is no service to ship issues to the USA? Hung around in WH Smiths with a few other shifty looking nerds as the boxes were being opened and the contents put out,
the manager was pleased as we decimated the stock as he had a Marvel Superheroes and a toy car partworks also launching today, and not enough space to put them in

Just noticed that I've not actually been charged for my Forbidden Planet preorder, does anyone have experience when they actually put the payment through? IIRC their website said they'd be getting issue 5 in around the 7th of October.
As an aside - I bloody hate that, just charge the sodding card when I make the order so I don't have to bother remembering that such and such is going to come out of this or that account on whatever date. If I want to cancel I can cancel, that's what the distance selling regs are for.

I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.
"Your society's broken, so who should we blame? Should we blame the rich, powerful people who caused it? No, lets blame the people with no power and no money and those immigrants who don't even have the vote. Yea, it must be their fething fault." - Iain M Banks

"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal |

I considered a 2nd. But decided I didn't want so many of the same pose (already have these 3 from First Strike).
Also though I'd leave the only other copy in the little newsagents for someone else.

Ten for himself - that will give him 3 full strength squads. And three for a mate who's just starting on Space Marines. The bloke in the shop sent someone off to get some more out the back shop.
Black paint will get used, gold will take a bit longer, then there's a lifetime supply of Macragge Blue.

£5 gets me 2 sets of Auspex dudes, regular Intercessors, and a better Sergeant pose for the squads. With a bit of cutting and some bitz I can kitbash one of the regulars into an Auxiliary Grenade Launcher or something.
Pretty good, along with the paints!

I have 1 coming from Hachette and 3 that have already arrived from Forbidden Planet. Had a quick attempt last night at adjusting the marine poses. I reckon they can be switched around a bit to vary them but need ideas for the empty/auspex hands. I figure a couple can have bolt pistols and I might be able to fashion some to be holding grenades. That is the only thing holding me back from picking up a couple more copies. That and the Macragge Blue, of course!

I needed the black and gold for my Custodes, and the blue will be donated to my friend who is a massive Ultrasmurf fan boy. The kick-start to my new Primaris Minotaurs force proceeds well!

I've been pondering doing a small Primaris force of Celestial Lions, which are gold with blue accents. This works out quite well! I probably won't get every issue, but 3 Intercessors and 3 Reivers will make a great kill-team, for example, and getting characters like the primaris apothecary for £8 rather than £18 or whatever is a no-brainer.

Just picked up 2 copies of Issue 1. Full size paint pots and £20 worth of Easy to Build Primaris Marines. Very happy.
Comes with a poster of that sweet Ultramarines art that's on the front of the Space Marine Codex. Very happy.

Must be a little bit touched in the head, since you can order back issues from Hachette anyway. Or just hoping to catch someone who doesn't know that. Either way, yeah, scalpers are scum

Haven’t looked in any shops today as I got multiples from forbidden planet.
If shipped on the 24th I’d be expecting it already really, so hopefully it comes tomorrow. :(
Yeah I’ll end with all this Blue, thinking I’ll have to start a blue force of something. But what, don’t want to to UM, but maybe another Primaris Force that uses Blue..
I dunno, something I’m sure..
