Asda here doesn't appear to be carrying it, or many part works annoyingly, more annoying after it took 45 mins to drive the few miles home because they have "improved" a junction.
In London on Wednesday, likely walking past a few newsagents so will be trying for a haul then

FYI - It’s not being carried in any of the Train Staions WHSmiths or so I was told at both the Liverpool Street stores. They recommended the Chancery Lane shop if your in that part of Town but I’m sure it’ll be at plenty of other locations.

Nope. You have to set up your subscription at issues 1-4 to get the gifts Automatically Appended Next Post: And I think possibly delivery one to get the modelling set. (Issues 1-2).
If you don’t take it out there you won’t get issue 3 free either I’d imagine? Not sure though, that might come as long as you order for delivery 2 at least (issues 3-6)

Won’t help, they have said “most issues” come with models, so there’s a bit of leeway there.
I’d think the big tanks could be 2-3 issues maybe..
Hopefully nothing else.
I would think that they’d give models in an issue, then a couple without to even it out for subscribers paying monthly,
But how do you stop single issue buyers taking advantage of that.. I guess maybe really limited copies of issues once they’ve got their set amount of Subs, that way it will mostly sell out quick on the back orders (by then there won’t be any in shops..)

*rolls eyes*
this happens with just about every single partwork, the companies behind them are well aware this happens, and they print a lot more of the first few loss leading teaser issues than the rest, its essentially advertising for the subscriptions.
after the first few issues a lot of places won't be carrying it unless specifically ordered anyway.
Will be interesting to see how the various sprues are packaged up, the subscription ones come four at a time, I find myself wondering if you are likely to find a larger kit comes with its frames as a "four weekly", a frame with each issue then maybe a paint or two part way through it.
when you consider the 40k starter set is in here you are going to have various issues with frames you can't actually use until you have a couple more issues anyway.
also expecting all the more juicy multi-part stuff to feature much later in the series to avoid people waiting until they have that then cancelling.

This is what someone at GW was saying yesterday - it will be subscription only after issue 4 if I understood (that may be via a shop or direct) and the bigger kits will turn up as a complete model in the delivery, but effectively a sprue per issue type of thing (but as you get 4 issues per delivery you will get the complete model).

This someone at GW better call up Forbidden Planet and tell them it's sub-only, since they're taking preorders for single issues well past #4.

It’s not being sold passed issue 4 in GW shops. Most news agents are also unlikely to have post issue 4 as that’s when the free returns end. WH Smith’s and Forbidden Planet still stock some partworks after that point, they just can’t return the issues so take a bit of a risk.
Smiths tend to only carry the graphic novel partworks after issue 4 but this is the first miniatures one in a long time so they may also stock Conquest.

generally post the free returns places stock it based on customers reservations, but hachette will likely still flog them.
for the larger models they may have to be ordered in blocks of four though Automatically Appended Next Post:

We can joke about it but they'll hit a whole bunch of younger people doing it, and some of them will pick it up.
The point of GW doing this is to massively raise visibility and TV and facebook advertising is going to do that. It worked really well for LotR, and GW and hatchette will have planned this to do the same for 40k. Particularly after the BL partwork.

You might still if you sub 3 or 4, just not issue 3 free potentially unless you do it before 3-6 ships (though if you sub online and get all of those even if it’s when 4 is out you might.
But they said after Issue 4 subs it’s no free gifts at all).
Bear in mind they expect all the issue 1/2 shop buyers to discover it and then sub, so they have to allow some leeway for the freebies for them.
So I’d say yours safe until the date issue 5 ‘launches’ (though it won’t be coming individually, I’d assume that’s the date it’s cutting off) Automatically Appended Next Post: You might still if you sub 3 or 4, just not issue 3 free potentially unless you do it before 3-6 ships (though if you sub online and get all of those even if it’s when 4 is out you might.

ok, ta. I'll probably pick up the 2nd issue in store then, then maybe get the sub. Death-Dealing Devastator
|
Just a cautionary tale. I decided to subscribe to Warhammer 40,000 Conquest with the understanding that I could cancel at anytime.
After some soul searching I realised that a lot of push fit Primaris (so premoulded shoulderpads) and Death Guard I wouldn't use would just be a waste of funds I opted to cancel.
This was when I hit the first roadblock. The company doesn't actually allow a cancel anytime (such as Netflix, Amazon Prime etc. where cancellation is immediate), but in fact requires 28 days notice. So I decided to ring them and implement the 14 day cooling off period outlined on the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) website...second roadblock.
The call center workers are unhelpful, aggressive and generally blasé; I have now called on 4 seperate occassions and they seem either unable or uninterested in assisting with cancellation.
I have since contacted my bank who have informed me that when Hachette makes their first withdrawal I can dispute that payment and place blocks to further prevent future withdrawals.
I honestly don't trust the company and would advise anyone who is considering subscribing to at least take what I've written to heart. Additionally the following link is for HachettePartworks Trustpilot reviews and they're pretty damning.

Great post Foxfyre, I have been surprised not to have seen much talk of their customer services on the thread. I was just about to subscribe myself but did a similar online search and there are some fairly damning reviews about the attitude to receiving lost or undelivered items, cancelling subscriptions etc. In the end I decided that no matter how tempting a subscription is it is just not worth any similar hassle and your post has pretty much confirmed this. It's still a great deal for the first few issues so will keep an eye out in stores and try to buy back issues off the website.
