Hello, I have been searching around the internet in the hopes of finding internet stores which will sell me 40k models (specifically the Militarum Tempestus start collecting box), and I have been finding that in most places, the best that can be done is a 15% discount, unless I am dumb and don’t understand maths. I have been looking on different forums, including one here from a while ago, and I just can not seem to confirm any over the old 20%-25% discounts on those sights. Was this some big phenomenon with online stores getting to put 40k in their shopping carts? US based for the shipping and such.

From what I've seen, very few stores still do 20% - most have moved to 15%

The War Store and Miniature Market being two of the popular US based ones correct me if I'm wrong.

I am not aware of any US online stores that do more than 15% off. I would love for someone to prove me wrong, but that is the best I have found.

You would be hard pressed to find anything at that discount that is genuine and not some recast.

ebay searching is your best bet, though this takes time and effort. about 5 yrs back I got a NIB IG chimera and infantry squad box set for around $23 include shipping.

Recently I got a catachan chimera and infantry boxset for $45 include shipping, but I mainly got it for the valhallan tank riders and old decals.

I also bought a outpost pythos terrain boxset from the UK, it was selling for 100 lbs, I offered 95 lbs and with shipping it was $158, I bought it when there was a ebay bucks promotion so I will get around $12 back. The bundle of terrain was a great deal, its listed at $170 for items that would cost $226.25 individually without shipping; Now the real surprise kicker: when I went to the post office to pick up and opened it at home, to my surprise I got a GSC insurrection battleforce too! I double check, then triple check my paypal to make sure I didn't accidentally order something else. Its good to be lucky and drown in grey plastics, I got a FREE $170 item that's $245 individually.

For the longest time, GW forbid retailers putting their products in shopping carts online. Many internet retailers thus advertised 20% off, but you had to call or email to make order arrangements.

Last year, GW revised their terms with retailers allowing them to put GW products in online shopping carts with a maximum of a 15% off MSRP. Just about everyone has done exactly that.

Buying in bulk is key.
See if you can condense your annual spend into one big one then have a chat with your local store or to an online retailer and cut a deal.
They may not be interested in anything below $500-1000 rrp ut that depends on the store and how you've rolled against your charisma.

The FLGS I used to work for would gladly give you a 25% discount on a $500 purchase. Talk to people and see what they say.

Here in Italy online stores sell GW products for 25% or even 30% discount. Of course products that are "exclusive of the web GW site" don't get that discount, some can even sell them for a 10% off though. But the 25% for the standard kits is the normal.

FLGS instead don't have this politics and usually sell at the full retail price, with the exception of a few ones that give customers a discount of 10%, 15% or 20% but it's not very common.
