Browsing through my FW Chaos Index, I was checking to see what heavy support options I had available. The Scorpius jumped out to me as easily obtained. A rhino with a Kromlech turret, and presto! But is it worth spending 217 points on? Because on paper it seems nasty being able to launch 6d3 hits that doesn't need los seems really powerful.

I've had okay results with the Loyalist Scum variant, but if you're only facing chaff it won't make many points back.

I'd be using it for killing MEQ squads, since I play against a lot of DG and other marine armies.

I've got a turret which I don't like, so I'm going for a nother one - but it's on my list of Rhino options to try out sometime. Curious how other people are doing with them. Indirect fire is a valuable asset.

Do you mean to say that you don't like the Scorpius turret? Or Haven't tried it.

They're VERY mediocre against chaff, but against 2-3W models they shine a good amount. When they get to shoot twice, they're good against even Custodes. Somewhat.
