So, I'm gonna start playing with sorcerer(s) in my lists and see if it helps as much as I've been told it should. My question is in a WE list whats the appropriate number of sorcerers ? Right now I've got one, with one game played with it. I can't really count that game as my opponent didn't have a very good list. I intend on getting another game this week at league night.

WE as in World Eaters? World Eaters cannot use Sorcerers, Khorne doesn't like them.
In a general Chaos list, one is probably fine. Especially if you are also bring a Daemon Prince or two, which you probably should be as they're awesome.

I run a Renegade detachment for the sorcerer.
Vaklor - trust me I don't like it anymore than you do, I'm trying to be more competitive at tournaments. Warptiming a squad of Zerkers across the board it pretty fun though.

If you're only using the Sorcerers for Warp Time, consider turning your Renegade Legion into Alpha Legion? Alpha Legion gets a pretty cool stratagem called "Forward Operatives" ... basically during deployment, you can set up that unit of Bezerkers "in hiding" (they count as deployed, but you don't have to say where they are). Before the start of the game, you reveal where they are hidden and set them up anywhere on the board that's more than 9" away from your opponent. And since that's before the start of the game, they don't count as having moved so they can still move and charge in their turn
Of course, if you want to really play it safe, Alpha Legion can still take sorcerers so grab a Sorcerer in Terminator Armour, deepstrike that guy right behind your Bezerker horde, get Warp Time off, and they're pretty much guaranteed to charge into whatever you need them to.

You could make the detachment thousand sons and get 6” to your spells which would mix as long as you did the hermitic spells
Maybe as supreme command detachment

I run them as Legion Skulltakers, since I use Lord Zhufor.
As for other Legions, I'm trying to keep it a little fluffy still. So no TSons or Alpha.

Hereticus discipline Psykers are nearly the most important unit in a WE list, imo.
You want a CSM assault army to work? You pretty much need Warptime, so you can get into combat much more reliably.
Ignore the fact that your WE detachment can't have take a Sorcerer since Sorcerers can't take the Mark of Khorne. You're taking a second detachment, and it's going to have someone who can cast Warptime.
There's a bunch of ways to do this. You could take a Chaos detachment with a Sorcerer or a Daemon Prince and some other stuff, but then you won't get any legion traits. The other stuff doesn't matter much, it can be units that don't get a legion trait in the first place (like vehicles), it could be just some good Chaos units like Nurglings, anything goes really.
You could take a Thousand Sons detachment and grab one of their Psykers. They've got some nice stuff, too, like Daemon Princes casting two powers a turn, and Tzaangors. Tzeentch and Khorne don't really get along, but if you're ignoring the fluff, these guys work pretty well together on the tabletop.
You could always grab an Alpha Legion spearhead with a Psyker and some Slaanesh Obliterators. Works great, gives you some anti-tank fire that WE doesn't usually have.
Or the fluffy option: take a Black Legion battalion. Grab Abaddon, a Psyker, and three big units of Cultists. Abaddon makes these Cultists morale immune, which is absolutely bonkers, and your Psyker (a Sorcerer on jump pack or a Daemon Prince, probably) can cast Warptime on your Berserker boys and get them stuck in. Abaddon's leading the combined forces of Chaos, just like he's supposed to.
As for how many Psykers: 1-2 should cover it. If you take 1, it should be somebody pretty mobile, because they can't ride in your Rhinos. If you take 2, it's fair to take a barebones Sorcerer and a Daemon Prince. I'd give them both Warptime since it's so useful in your army.

If you're running Skulltakers then they're renegades, so you're not limited by the requirements of the World Eater Legion (stupid rules but they haven't developed a way of adding sub-factions and sub-legions - I'm having the same problems with adding Necrosius to my army).
That being so, you don't *need* to take another detachment to take a sorcerer, because currently RAW you're running a renegades detachment (which just so happens to be khornate), so you can just include him in your current detachment.

I'll second that you want a jump pack on your sorcerer. Warptime is the main reason you are using them, and you need to get them up front with your melee troops. Either jump pack or terminator armour deep strike is basically mandatory (and Terminator is kind of too expensive), especially when you consider that your sorcerer won't be able to ride along with your WE in any transports due to being a different legion.

I've already got one, and he's got a jump pack. I was thinking about adding a second one on foot. But I think I'll just try it with one for now.

The thing is you can only cast Warptime once a turn anyway. Sure there are other nice powers, but nothing mandatory. One should be fine, though if you know your opponent will be leaning heavily on their psychic phase it might be worth taking another for the denies...

You need a termie sorc. Warptime has the amazing range of 3". No termie, no chance you will really make it. At least not in any turn where it matters.
If you go down that road, Thousand Sons needs to be your second detachment. Their termie sorc can cast warptime on 9" range and also he gets +1 to cast due to spell familiar.

Or a Jump Pack Sorcerer - 10 pts cheaper, also has native deepstrike and is faster after the first turn.
