Should be a short simple question
Can I field tactical marines and devastators, as grey knights? they do have the <chapter> key word which I could change to grey knights no?
and if so I can then use Astral aim on them as well?
Just seems like a bit of a broken combo and wondering if it is game legal

No.
The codex says what options for have for <Chapter >

If the units are not in the Grey Knights codex then no you can not use them as grey knights. So no, its not game legal.

Are they in the Grey Knights Codex? If so, yes. If they're from Codex Space Marines, no, as you can't give them the GREY KNIGHTS Keyword.

Are we talking about Proxying?

Because that's a different ballgame.

You cannot pick the GREY KNIGHTS keyword as your <CHAPTER>. And even if you could, one of the FAQ forbids doing what you're trying to do.

Wasn't this one of the first things to be FAQ'd away come to think of it?

The best you could do is have a separate detachment of Space Marines with the tacticals and devastators, and even then Astral Aim wouldn't work since they don't have the GREY KNIGHT keyword (and if Astral Aim affected ADEPTUS ASTARTES or IMPERIUM, you wouldn't have needed to think about taking tacs or devs as Grey Knights).. No broken combo there.

If you play with a child group then you could, there is a fluff argument for it. The original grey knight army list from 1st edition had them with all standard marine type but special terminator squads like we have now. Check out slaves to darkness. I'd let you if they looked cool.

Rules wise, no.

If you're going with fluff arguments, then Space Marines always win. It seems to take the fun out of the game if you rely on the fluff for the game.

If it's a well painted or converted army I think it could be fun to see. I'd prefer it to the current version of grey Knights.

Grey Knights already have tacticals and devestators: Grey Knight Strike Squads and Grey Knight Purgation Squads. No need to bring in lesser Astartes.
