Tbh it’s weird to me that Plasma even got a buff. Everyone ran imperial plasma and had those models.
It would have made more sense to buff Melta with something like flat 6 damage at half range or flamers reroll wounds.

Helblasers are actually appropriately costed. It is the cheap plasma that is the problem.

I don't think the KMK falls in the plasma issue. It doesn't have the overcharged profile and orks don't even have access to the any re-rolls in the shooting phase.

s7 ap3 D 1, Overheat on unmodified 1s to hit, +1 s & D on unmodified 6s to hit.
Solves everything I think.

That is not the problem. The most powerful plasma units are the suicide plasma scions.
That is not a problem with plasma (and believe me I did not enjoy being wiped out by Scions with plasma), but with cheap plasma. Also, too much Deep strike access for certain armies (or perhaps, not all deep strike should be minimum 9").

It's exactly this. The deep strike access thing. If scions were forced to buy a transport no one would complain about them.
Too many units have access to free or easy deep strike in this edition, generally speaking, I'd like a game in which transports are needed since only a very limited amount of units can deepstrike, infiltrate or outflank.
