Got a store tournament coming up next weekend at kind of an odd points total, and thought I'd sanity check my list. I'm running what we on the necron thread jokingly call a salad, since a soup is multiple codexes in one list, we were joking that a single codex with multiple factions should be called a salad. The outrider is a pure CC rush, Novokh dynasty wraiths are the main thrust, while scarabs act as a screen. The D-Lord works kind of like a storm eagle, fast CC focused character, who rerolls hits and wounds on charges, with a lot of wound regen, and a 0 CP chance to come back from the dead on a 4+ with a d6 wounds, which stacks with the resurrection protocols stratagem to give him two chances to come back from the dead.

The battalion is mostly shooting focused, with nephrek to assist the infantry getting around the board, and to allow the destroyers to deep strike (so they can avoid opponents alphas). Doomsday ark is the odd man out, but it provides anit-vehicle, and between QS and the canoptek cloak equipped cryptek, it should last a while. The only thing I'm missing out on compared to a 2k list is tomb blades, but since I wanted ranged and CC I had to decide between destroyers and tomb blades, and that was a pretty easy choice. In a 2k list I imagine you won't choose and instead take both. The only part I'm on the fence about is the overlord, I'm paying a few extra points for him compared to a lord, so he can buff the tesla immortals, the question is just can I do better? I'm not a huge fan of cheerleaders, every unit should be working to its utmost every round, so the idea of a overlord hanging in back just doesn't sit well with me. Do I shift some things around and give him a void scythe, or do I make him into an ambulance, spend a CP to give him the veil, and shift some points around to give him a res orb? What do you guys think?

You've identified all the issues with the list. It really comes down to two trade-offs.

First, is the Novokh dynasty buff and Destroyer Lord HQ worth the equivalent points into more Warriors or Scarabs? With Nephrekh's auto 6" advance and the stratagem to charge the Wraiths after advancing, the Wraiths could still do well in the battalion.

Second, you really only have one unit that benefits from the Overlord. Is that enough to justify it? If you merged the two units, you could remove the Overlord and keep the Destroyer Lord.

Only you can answer these questions. There is merit both ways.

You are lacking anti vehicle units. Only the DDA has the firepower to wound T7 on 3+. Destroyers need 5+ to wound T7.

Thanks to volume of fire, Destroyers can actually kill vehicles faster than a DDA, and on rounds they use "extermination protocols" ( which lets them reroll hits/wounds), they can take vehicles down at about three times the rate of a DDA. My general approach to list building is I should be able to drop a LRBT each round, and this list is pretty on the nose with that one. Assuming toughness 6-9 and a 3+ save:

DDA
2/3 * 2/3 *3.5 * 3.5 = 5.4 wounds per volley

Destroyers
2/3 * 1/3 * 5/6 * 2 * 18 = 6.6 wounds per volley

Destroyers w/ extermination protocols
8/9 * 5/9 * 5/6 * 2 * 18 = 15 wounds per volley

4 destroyers for 200 pts have 12 shots, hit 8 times, makes 2.65 wounds on T7, no saves is 5.3 damage. There is a small chance a sv roll can succeed.

1 DDA for 193 pts. has 3,5 shots, hits 2,345 times, makes 1,57 wounds on T7, no saves is 5,5 damage. There is no chance for a sv roll.

DDA is much more resilient than 4 destroyers. QS renders LC and ML pretty much useless.
