Hi everyone,

So the new rules for the Terrax Pattern Termite Assault Drill from FW have been unveiled and it looks like only SM and CSM can benefit from it. As some of you may now, this is excessively upsetting as an AdMech player, seeing as we don't have a single transport vehicle available to us, despite being the faction that builds most military equipment for the Imperium (and Chaos). It has rules for 30k Mechanicum but somehow only Space Marines fit inside as of the 41st millenium.

So I invite you to send an email to the Forge World team (forgeworld@gwplc.com) to explain our problem, and ask the rule team to include AdMech to the rules. With enough emails they'll certainly deal with this. Here's mine that I've just sent.
Spoiler:
Greetings,

A member of a forum I am part of shared with us the new rules for the Terrax Pattern Termite Assault Drill, and we noticed that while there are rules for it for the Mechanicum in the Horus Heresy game, the Warhammer 40,000 rules indicate that it's a transport exclusive to Astartes. This is really disappointing, seeing as the Adeptus Mechanicus don't have a single transport available to them, we had hope that this new model could transport our models.

Would it be possible to ask the rules team to write an addendum saying for example "This model can transport 12 <Forge-World> Infantry models." ? That way the Adeptus Astartes can still use it, but it's only justice that the faction who builds vehicles and transports for the Imperium should benefit from its own products.

With kind regards,

X

Probably best to wait and see what Fires of Cyraxus will have for the AdMech. I'd prefer the Triaros over the Termite.

I'd assume it's done on purpose. Not having a transport in 40k for AdMech clearly is a design choice for that army, at least that's what I've always thought.

Don't worry, the rules are trash. Even if you had the ability to take one you'd never want to.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Seems like a great way to bring up rubrics with flamers and a sorcerer to warp time them and I might be tempted to pay 106 points to save 3 CP.

But, because of Trump this this is $105, which is too much for me right now.

Personally, I'd rather have Chimeras than the Termite. Especially if we got a Stratagem that gave Skitarii within range of Chimeras the effects of Enhanced Data-Tethers when Doctrina Imperatives get used.

Honestly I wouldn't even buy it anyway because paying almost 1€ per point is unthinkable, but it doesn't mean I believe we shouldn't have access to it. It's short of a middle finger to us to release a vehicle advertised with a 30k Mechanicum model beside it but then, suddenly, SPACE MARINES !

Rules are okay, you deep strike it turn one, then disembark and make your move, shooting, charge etc on turn 2, like all other vehicles. It's just that this one survives better if your opponent have first turn.

It's a decent melee transport.

T8, 4 S7 attacks hitting on 4s, and a melta pistol that you can fire into combat. It does its job well.

"Thanks for the email and for your feedback regarding the New Termite Assault drill.

We hope all of our customers will be able to enjoy this model for many different reasons, as it stands, our studio writers have issued the digital version of the rules on our web store and are taking in all feedback for future improvements and for potential FAQ updates. These include the available factions for the Horus Heresy universe and available factions for the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

I am afraid at this time we have no further information on additional rules being produced though we are aware our design team are in the process of designing a new campaign book said to feature the Adeptus Mechanicus, Red Scorpions and T'au. We may see new and updated rules in this publications.

I will forward a copy of your feedback and any questions on to our rules team to review."

Bow down to Guilliman for he is our new God Emperor!

"Lol, classic martel. 'I know it was strong enough to podium in the biggest tournament in the world but I refuse to acknowledge space marines are good because I can't win with them and it can't possibly be ME'."

Surely if anything on the Imperial side should get the sort of rules the Tyranid Mawloc has for its tunnelling activities this should?

Well no surprise it has 30k mechanicum next to them seeing 30k mechanicum can take them. Tough. FW's bread and butter isn't 40k but 30k.

So the imperial version of that thing can transport Centurions? While expensive, getting 6 Hurricane Bolters into rapid fire range turn one could be fun. Also doesn't say Centurions take up more than 1 transport slot so one could still transport 6 other models with them.

It's probably just an oversite. Don't recommend getting used to making strategies around it.
