I think we should spare a thought for Yakface, who only wanted to hook people up with some free can openers and then presumably read through the first 3 pages of this thread like this.

We would like to address the recent discussion over a phrase that is depicted on a bottle-opener branding the game of Nexus.

If you look closely, the words are “No Life Matters.” Notice it doesn’t say “Lives.” This phrase is not an exploitation of the different “X Lives Matter” movements. It is simply a reflection of the world that Nexus exists in where brutality and fame are the only things that truly matter.

Industrialized language is something we were warned about by George Orwell and many others.

In the Nexus, you will find a society where all has fallen completely apart and corruption runs unchecked. One who might find themselves there would certainly be mocked for thinking anything as futile as a life is sanctimonious in any way other than utility.

So you’re just ignoring the problematic similarity, when you could choose many other combinations of words without a problematic real-world association?

Cool story, bro.

So, 3 pages of vitriol because of a misunderstanding? Wow, been a long time since I saw such pure human behaviour

I'm curious about the NEXUS, but before I know if I'm interested or not, I need some miniatures pics. I like your game description, but miniatures are always the sink or swim point. Can you share any time frame?

(also, the bag looks damn good!)

If a mod could inform me as to why my post got deleted, I'd appreciate it.

So can an admin clarify - did the manufacturer volunteer to provide these products or did Dakka ask for them?

And if the latter does that mean Dakka tacitly supports their political position?

I prefer to buy from miniature manufacturers that *don't* support the overthrow of democracy.

Not sure it's a political position...

Your lack of plural isn’t exactly convincing, especially when you immediately turn to calling those you’ve offended Orwellian. This’ll probably just be deleted, but I plan to contact as many of Dakka’s advertisers as I can to make them aware of the admin’s implicit support of this company.

I'm sure your quest will bring Dakka tumbling to the ground.

Sorry everyone. I should have definitely noticed ahead of time that their slogan 'No Life Matters' could easily be construed as being flippant about quite important real life issues.

I didn't see connection before I posted and I should have.

I do absolutely believe the publisher that their intent in using that terminology is not to promote a political viewpoint, but rather just an unfortunate gaff. However, as this discussion has clearly focused specifically onto that phrase (understandably so), it doesn't really make sense to continue this thread.

Sorry again for any confusion or anger generated over this topic.
