Markerlights - who really needs em? Most this army hits on 2's. 4 ML will be just fine I think.

Turn 1 should be really fun - 14 seeker missles to blow something big up on turn 1. 11 command points and the puretide reroll to keep +1 to wound stratagem flowing and heal longstrike if need be. Whole army over-watch on 5+ and everything has FTGG. Plenty of screening - plenty of mobility - lots of firepower. I like this setup - anything you would change?

Yup. One piranha has the same dakka as your 3-strong stealth units. It is less survivable but it is about a million times more maneuverable and fast. And it costs less (I think). Unless your stealth suits are there to provide character cover to the commanders, that is.

Missile pods on the enforcer are very expensive and not really sure that you need them - they really are just glorified burst cannons. Also, is there any reason why your coldstar does not have his quad fusion blasters? I think 4 ion cannons are not enough to get rid of all the enemy tank power.

Oh and you better pray to the greater good that Longstrike survives past turn 1. Otherwise most of your army is gimped.

Stealth suits primary purpose is screening deep strike and to give commanders wiggle room. Piranha doesn't do that - it can also be killed by a single las cannon. Those stealth teams are 90 points. Phrana is like 78 points I think. -1 save no -1 to hit and no infiltrate are why am taking suits over a piranha.

Not a fan of fusion commanders. Missile commander exists so he can start on the table and still have good target selection while setting off reroll hits. Missile pod is overpriced for sure. It's more like a glorified auto-cannon than a burst cannon though. Overpaying for missile pods seems to be the best solution for not losing a turn of firepower to set off twinlinked shooting bubble.

Long strike has a big target on his head for sure- hopefully I can hide him as range and moving is no issue for him.

I feel like the skyray is kind of redundant with so many hammerheads on the board; especially since there's no markerlight support.

I would bring 2 fusion and 2 CIB on the 2nd commander just to give a little extra punch vs high wound models.

I know this would not fit with my Tau playstyle. I find hammerheads not so good

2 firebldes and the skyray is an average of 3 marker light hits - which with the stratagem is enough to get +1 to hit for your firewarriors.Or just to get reroll 1's on a few targets.

The Ionhead is a lot like a lemonruss with a battle cannon. d6 shots instead of 2d6 - but flat 3 damage vs d3 damage. Plus they are hitting better too/fly keyword/ and pretty equal secondary weapons. 2 seeker missles for 10 points is equal to a single las cannon in value.

All of this and you are hitting on 2's next to long strike compared to 4's from a russ? What's not to like about them?

No vehicles have For the Greater Good. The exception is Longstrike himself - so plan their placement accordingly.

Also, I'd have to say that your seeker missiles are not going to be very effective against mid - long range armor. You need your markerlights to be within 36" of the target to get the BS of the user on seekers, so anything with greater range is likely to avoid being shot.

I'd probably add in a squad of marker drones and put a drone controller on one or both of the stealth teams to give yourself some ability for forward markerlight coverage (for at least a turn or 2 before they kill it). It would only be about 40-55 points, and the stealth team can hide out of LOS and the drones can manta strike if you go second.

I could easily make points by reducing missle commander (which is actually way overpointed) but I just like his ability to stay hidden behind units and he sets off my master of war ability. If I dropped him to CIB that's 24 points right there another 12 if I drop velocity trackers then SMS to burst cannon on the sky ray and I'd have it.
