So, I was playing a game the other day, and some Hellblasters killed themselves on Overwatch. He had an Ancient nearby, and got to shoot again with them. He claimed that you could shoot at full BS, since it was no longer considered Overwatch, and I didn't really argue it because I was winning pretty hard, so why bother?

But I'd like to double check with Dakka Dakka-was that correct?

Yes, you get the full BS, because you shoot "as if it were the shooting phase", in addition to the fact it's not an Overwatch Shooting attack, so the rules for Overwatch (which is the charge phase) don't apply.
