When you look at the app you kind of know why they aren't done with points yet.
For power level they don't need to configure many option (except those that add PL), let alone check limits. Just to input all the data without error could take a week or so.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

If you think thats bad, it looks like his little Army Builders sets the description of the website to his name!
One key thing is that GW will never, EVER open source their documents - meaning we have to rely on an inherently slow company to push out updates....

I've already noticed there's no option for a Priest as an Imperial Guard Elite's choice...
They did include Rough Riders though, so thoughtful.

If this has the same level of detail as battlescribe, that it gets updated constantly to reflect all the FAQs and Erratas AND the £1 a month subscription means I won’t need to carry all the books around, then I’m all for it.
Battlescribe is good, but requires a lot of updating and changes, and even then, mistakes can still be made sometimes – or things are wrong. Not to mention nearly every faction is designed differently.
If GW can build this and have it 100% accurate then it will only be a good thing going forward. (until your phone dies in the last turn of the last game of the day and you get asked a question…!)
If however, it is slow to update, laggy, battery hungry and full of mistakes then it’ll just get ignored.

Frankly, GW is late to the party, and their first showing is for an inferior product. I can’t see me using this over Battlescribe, especially consider BS handles more games than just 40K.
Didn’t they try something like this starting with one of the codexes back in 6E or 7E, and promptly drop it? I think it was a part of either the Necron, Tyranid or Tau electronic versions?

I hear this 40k app is going to cost a fortune to even use it for 1 faction.
As someone who payed like £2 a year for BS I do not ever see myself using a 40k version unless it was entirely free and 100% accurate up to the FAQs. Most players like me never do tournaments so if 1 unit is off by a few points we would never even notice.
