Hey There,
I browsed the army list section looking for a DA list that really abused some of the auras and plasma strategem and couldn't find what I was looking for.
The main idea of this list is a giant blob of rerolling Hellblasters with a 4++ and a -1 to hit aura. They can fire when they die on a 4+ thanks to the ancient, and the apothecary can bring guys back as it will be fairly difficult to kill the entire squad in a single phase.
The other half of the list is another big rerolling blob of plasma, which has a few different characters that can spread out and grab objectives late game. They also bring a CC element with 3 attacks each thanks to their Ancient,and every time the Apothecary brings someone back, he is basically gaining 46pts. They have assault weapons so they can still shoot after turbo bloosting, which gives them a 4++ just like the Hellblasters.
Anyways, was just brainstorming a plasma spam list and wantes to get some outside thoughts on it? Has anyone tried something similar to any success? I have played a Guilliman Ultramarine version which was really strong, but rather than having a 4++ Aura, they rerolled all failed wound rolls, and that always worked well for me and this seems just better.

You might squeeze some points and put a Lieutenant in the list then it is very powerful. The only concern you might have is some DS horde units tie you up from T2 onwards.
I think the 4++ might be better than reroll to wound. Sirvivability is the main issue. You won't have fitepower when you are dead.

Someone call the cops, there's been a murder, lol.
It seems pretty straight forwards list to me. I'd be worried about your ability to take objectives. Also from some of the few tournies I've seen, custodies bikers seem to be where most imperium armies are at, can you shoot from death if you're killed in CC?

Really like the list.
If you break the knights into 2 units of 5 it will give you an extra command point. Vanguard and outrider detachment.
Why not take a primaris apothecary? Instead of the normal one.

Splitting the knights will make the weapons stratagem less effective though. I don't think it will really be worth one CP.

The list comes to 1992/2000, so I just don't have an extra 13 points to change him to a Primaris. I felt the extra wound was more critical on the Ancient, although you could make either a Primaris.
I'm liking the recommendation of the Lieutenant, as he would definitely be better than a Ravenwing Ancient but I've already filled out 2/2 HQ slots for the Vanguard Detachment. We could juggle the detachments and maybe lose some firepower to get the points needed to add him and get that extra CP detachment and HQ slot, but i think the streamlined mass plasma list has it's merits as well.
As mentioned, you would need to split up the Knights and drop a character to fit in the Lieutenant / Create a 2nd detachment, and would generally mean you can only maximise the use of the strategem on Hellblasters instead of the Ravenwing blob.

This is good and similar to my Dark Angels list. Consider some Aggressors and/or a Talonmaster. Two plasma units, one bike one Infantry, is probably enough. Three is overkill.

The list starts with 5 CP and will regain CP on +5. Splitting the Talons will not matter since there wont be any CPs left for the Talons anyway

I would consider the original list with a slight re-jig to incorporate a Lieutenant and 3 scout squads.
The Lieutenant for the wound re-rolls and the scouts for the Battalion CP's and to screen your central hellblaster blob.
You could drop the RW Ancient, RW Apoth, and 1 Black Knight to acheive this. And I think some spare points to chuck in some Heavy Bolters in the scouts.
This does diminish the Black Knights though 9 and Sammy will still be good

I agree with this point. If you have 20 Hellblasters you should screen them. The more units that make it into double tap range the better
