So every single daemon bound entry in the chaos FW index has the heretic astartes and <legion> keyword except the plague hulk of nurgle. It doesn't even have the daemon faction keyword so it literally can't be taken in anything chaos or daemon within a detachment or it won't be battleforged. At this rate the only thing you can do is summon one. Did FW stupidly forget to put it's faction keywords in and overlook this mistake over and over in the index FAQ?

Any light you could shed on this would be great

Until FW fix it, that is the case. For all we know it might be intentional.

Also keep in mind the new Beta Battle Brothers rule is, well, Beta. Don't use it or house rule the Datasheet to have the correct keywords it if it inconveniences you.

Summon it.

Could also take it in a mixed Nurgle detachment, but without any legion benefits etc

Story of my life, like it doesn't take one person to do one thing to fix it, so damn lazy. And nowhere have they ever said it was intentional, they're just slack

All the FW books are riddled with errors and omissions. They clearly had about two lunchtimes notice to write everything, and it shows. I doubt they’ll bother fixing them, rather they’ll try and sell us new books to cover models they intend to keep in stock and abandon the rest without patching.

On the same note, the beta rules make it impossible to field any imperial titans with anything other than imperial titans. Because the Imperium's history is filled with successful examples of titans doing well without supporting units.....

Onky keyword they share is Imperium.

If ANYTHING is "intended" to be in their own Detachment, it's Titans. The new beta rules don't prevent IMPERIUM binding multiple detachments in an army, you just can't use it to bind units inside an individual detachment.

You can just take a super heavy auxiliary detachment. No issue.

Ah I am seeing that my group has misunderstood the FAQ. We though it meant every detachment in the army had to share a keyword that was not one of the excluded ones, not every unit in each individual detachment.

That makes more sense. Still seems odd that Armigers and Knights could not be in a LOW group. Or skitarri.

TY for clearing that up

Well pretty much yes. They got informed of 8th ed and indexes they need to write when we heard of it. Then write and actual physical production&shipping.

GW kept 8th ed too hidden when even sub company of theirs wasn't aware of it before it was publicly announced...

This will most likely be fixed when the knight codex comes.
