With the Sisters of Battle being announced for a plastic release next year, I’d be interested to see if SoS get a Custodes style release sometime soon. What do you guys think? This year or next?

I can't see them getting 'dex for themselves certainly.

I could see an 'Imperial Agents' codex possibly, fleshing out Inquisitors, Assassins, and SoS. But I could equally see them leaving them as Index choices for a long time (as much as this would annoy Inquisition fans!).

I wouldn't hold my breath basically, but you never know!

Ofc they will get their own codex. If GW can give KNIGHTS or Deathwatch a codex they will give Sisters a codex. Gotta milk that customer for all it's worth.

But we all know that GW is just setting the Sisters up to fail, they will release sub-par plastics, they will sell poorly, then GW can point to them and say "Never ask us for anything again here are some more Space Marines."

Well, we know they will keep releasing books. But they might start doing Marines 2.0 before they got desperate enough to do SoS.

I'm hoping for s full codex with new models, new tanks or other vehicles. Maybe even a LoW and/or flyer to themselves.

I'd be very surprised if it's this year.

I think they'll be rolled into the Sisters Of Battle codex. SoBs don't have a really dedicated anti-anti-psychic unit which is weird for the primary anti-psychic arm of the Imperium and it would tie in with Guilliman wanting the Talons of the Emperor to be more pro-active.

...the OP is talking about Sisters of Silence, BCB, not Sisters of Battle. Sisters of Silence already have their plastic troops.

They should have been released as part of a Talons of the Emperor codex.

This, especially since thats how they were actually released - even if they were a separate sub faction within ToE - all they need is a couple of generic characters who are already in the boxes and they are semi-viable, and could be given one or two other bits (Razorbacks perhaps given the small unit size?) and they would be fine

Reasonable. That’s my thought as well. 2019.

However, rolled into the Inquisition would be OK in my book.

I can actually see GW doing a series of mini-codexes for auxiliary support sub factions, stuff that has one customisable HQ, perhaps a character, a couple of troop choices that are designed to be specialists and maybe one or two support units.

stuff thats designed to run as a separate detachment alongside a larger force and be able to do a specific job

SoS seem a perfect fit, and does the Inquisition in its various forms

I'd just be happy if they got the 30k stuff they are missing.

It's not super clear to me where we go once the six or so remaining codexes get released.

I feel like they may pull a Sigmar and start releasing new factions/fleshing out ones who have hardly anything (proof from Custodes and Knights to an extent)/re-releasing old factions with new figures (proof from Sisters). I’m going to assume mostly new and I’d be more surprised if they lugged SoS in with Inquisition rather than getting more money out of us by releasing Sisters of Silence as a new faction with a few tasty new units

I'd rather that than see them thrown under the nuns with guns bus and added to the SoB codex

There is no way they are getting their codex. They are not a stand alone force thus will be lumped into another codex. Thankfully. I need muh TS smite spam.

With all the pressure to release them I suspect they probably will get a codex, will see plastic models and a lot of their old range converted into plastic such as their tanks.

That said, I also think they will not see anything until late 2019 and only as part of an inquisition launch. GW will likely focus of Aelfs in AOS first and given the recent video from Warhammer TV on freehanding banners, a release of some freepeople/ Bretonnia models long before they consider anything Sister related. Just long enough for people to buy up their Custodes, Deathwatch and inevitable Space Wolves releases.

As I pointed out when people asked this about Custodes, Warhammer 40k's official site lists them as a separate faction:

So I'd imagine the intent is to give them their own Codex, just like Custodes. Note that Agents of the Imperium is listed as a separate faction from both of them.

Sisters of silence order was founded/sponsored by the emperor himself to fight psykers. Fighting alongside custodes, they played a part in the burning of Prospero.
Post heresy they were one of the few orders to be gicen free reign of their own affairs by the high lords of terra.

Sisters of Battle are religious nutter, nuns with guns, that believe the emperor is a god and anyone who says otherwise is a heretic.

The two factions couldn't have less in common if they tried

You seem to think that after years of sexism, GW sees a female faction different to another. Sisters of silence and sisters of battle, I'd put good money that GW lumps them all in as "the faction with all the girls" followed by a Warhammer TV video on how to paint hot pink and fishnet stockings

I really, genuinely hope not unless it involves a simple port from the Forgeworld stuff. I do think they should have included them in with Custodes as a single codex, because the increasing "turn this squad into a tiny army" craze needs to stop. (looking at you Grey Knights...and Harlequins...and Deathwatch...etc.)

There are actually more Custodes than Blood Angels (though maybe not if you count successors).

There are actually more Custodes than Blood Angels (though maybe not if you count successors).

And Space Wolves and Dark Angels and in fact any other single Marine Chapter except maybe Black Templars -wich of course did not get a Codex..

I don't think they'll get their own book in 2019 - releasing both Sisters of Silence and Sisters of Battle in the same year could result in customer confusion - as seen in some of the responses in this very thread.

I'd be pretty happy if they came out in Sisters of Battle since my 3 painted squads and Celestine would give me an easy Vanguard. I expect they're more likely to be bundled in with Inquisition, however.

Yea I think they should have been put in the Custodian Guard codex.

Whilst 'Codex: Sugar and spice and all things nice' would be hilarious, it doesn't really make sense thematically as the SoS don't answer to the Ecclesiarchy. Putting them into a Codex: Inquisition would be the most sensible.

I'd say in 3 years, hope GW won't do a rush job with SoS, they deserve their codex done right.
