Hey dakka, quick question.
So dark eldar wyches have a rule that makes units disengaging with them have to roll off. Shardnets make you roll a d3 to oppose their d6.
Does this rule apply to units with fly? (Canoptek Scarabs, or perhaps Assault Marines for example come to mind) since they normally can fall back from combats without issues.
I also assume that redeployment wargear like teleport homers, the Veil of Darkness, or Gate of Infinity etc would not be effected, correct?
I'd appreciate the insight, I don't play DE, but this was kicking around my head.

The No Escape rule (which is what the Shardnet refers to) affects INFANTRY units that wish to Fall Back, and that's it.
*edit* totally unrelated, but since I've seen it so often in here: why do people use "to effect" instead of "to affect"? I thought "effect" was a noun.

So...it only effects INFANTRY....that...that is very interesting. So flying units with that keyword would be affected. Vehicles are not affected either...neat!
In my case? Laziness mostly, its an online forum. lol

Exactly - all those nets do is add another layer of camouflage nettings onto those pesky Leman Russ tanks

To give a more generic answer, unless something explicitly mentions the FLY keyword, it doesn't have any rules meaning, it's just another random keyword.

Personally I like to effect an affect in others such that it affects their ability to effect or effect an affect that affects the discourse.
Those two words are silly. Both of them are both nouns and verbs. All used correctly to create the nonsense above.

It affects anything with the infantru keyword, so if it has fly and infantry it would be affected by no escape. Automatically Appended Next Post: It affects anything with the infantru keyword, so if it has fly and infantry it would be affected by no escape.
