Hello,
for those in need of tracks on your tabletop and with access to a 3d-printer, my campaign offers a set of free samples for 1:56 and 1:100 printout.
These can, of course, be scaled, but if you want curves, switches or the correct detail for different gauges, jump in at 10€/$13 for the full set.

For those without a printer... reconsider that, even if you do not need railway tracks. 3d print will change this hobby! :-)

At 2000 there will be another gauge - so if you have suggestions how an Imperial (or Orkish) railway track should look...

Wow! It just happens I've been searching for cheap train tracks and I have access to 3D printing if I work at it. Any chance of cheap to scale train bogies(sp?) wheel set ups you could scratch build your own warhammer train onto?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
There are some wheels!

Great idea. That would certainly largely enhance the attractivity of this campaign for modellers and Ork players.

We already did simple wheels to allow the FOW trains to fit upon our tracks (see below).

Just doubling these will create scalable wheels on axles, so... no problem :-)
I can promise you that we will add a full wheel version of these, at least.

The main problem will be to make them printable in different scales - just creating the 3d-file is the least challenge. Once the GDPO-madness is over we will toggle this and show you a sample.

OK, here a prerelease. We will officially add the wheelset to the kickstarter in a few hours.

1. We amended and upscaled the wheels that already existed for the FOW trains:

A bit rough for larger scales, though sufficient for 1:100 and below.
We then looked into typical wheels and found spoked wheels to be more attractive. Here is the result:

We scaled the wheels so that a typical toothpick will make a fine axle in 1:56. For the other scales you need to find out what works best:

Ultimately we will probably also make full wheels to represent more modern wheels, and perhaps put out STLs that combine two wheels and a boxed axle.
I will forward some of these wheels to one of my pals who will create an Ork draisine - I will put that online in a week or so...

And if you want to help us to create one free set of tracks (and four just for backers), AND wheels.... the full pledge is just 10€/$13.

We rescaled the wheels a bit and printed them for the Truck:

The rescaled gauge for 1:56 would be 3000mm, the size of the Breitspurbahn.

If there is any interest we will also create a Grotcatcher (kudos to Ramshackle for the depicted exemplar) and bundle the wheels (fully spoked), catcher and track into the campagin: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dastri/printable-railway-tracks-stl-for-the-important-gau.
