Just got a box of Tactical Marines. Realized they're coming with larger bases now than they used to; remembered hearing about that but had forgotten until just now.

My question is, how is everyone basing their (regular, not Primaris, not Terminator) Marines? I'd like to keep all of mine to a standard base size, but I'm unsure which to choose. Opinions?

Standard is 32mm and I would use it for all new models. But if you still have old models on 25mm you don't have to rebase them.

The fast and loose rule from GW is simply that the models should be based on the size base they came with (at any point), so you can base your new marines on 25mm bases if you want.

However, some tournaments are requiring the most modern base, so it'd be 32mm.

I don't bother with tournaments or even GW bases, but that's the general gist.

Thank you. Do you happen to know if any other models (Necrons in particular) got a shift in base size or if it was just Marines?

Some other models did, yes. Necron warriors I believe did?

All Necron infantry went from 25mm to 32mm in recent repacks.

The same goes for Bloodletters, Plaguebearers and Pink Horrors. I believe that Daemonettes are still supplied with 25mm though.

Personally, I have been putting Orks on 32mm for a while and I wouldn't be surprised if that was the new standard in upcoming Codex: Orks.

That place is the harsh dark future far left with only war left.
