Hi,

Forgive me if this is already totally clear for everyone else than me, but I just could not find a straight answer. SO: Psychic focus says, each power can only be _attempted_ once each turn. Does this mean

a) if Ahriman tries to cast Warptime, and miserably fails (as mine often does), the backup caster, Scarab Occult Sorcerer, CANNOT even try to cast Warptime (because, can only attempt once)?

b) if attempt has not "used up" the limit, how about when Ahriman is successful, but then a sm librarian Denies that Warptime, can the sorcerer try to cast it again (as no warptime has been cast)

c) if Ahriman manages to cast, but is denied, has there been a successful manifestation of a psychic spell? TS tacobj at least counts successfull casts, mayby some other things too

I have played like ten games with TS and only today my opponent paused to ask if I can actually use my backup caster if Ahriman fails. So, either I am very convincingly playing this all wrong, or else no-one has really understood psychic focus in this town.

Br, and thx for help!
Timo

You get one attempt. Doesn't matter if it's successful or Not.

If your psyker successfully manifests a psychic power, and its denied by another psyker the power counts as successfully manifested (for other rule purposes), but it has no effect, because its resisted by the other psyker.

a) Correct.

b) n.a

c) It was successfully manifested and attempted. It just does nothing because it was denied.

Thank you everybody!

This just goes to show how much preconceptions make it hard to actually read rules word by word. :( Usually one attempt is one cast, so I got stuck to thinking the limit is one successful cast per spell. I stand corrected.

Br,
