I'm making some Deathwatch veteran squads, and noticed in the codex that they come with a boltgun, frag and krak grenades. So no problem the kit comes with one boltgun for each figure in the kit, but doesn't come with anything for the left arm, other then power swords, or a arm with a magazine in it for the stalker bolt gun. The other left arms in the kit go to the other weapon options.

So is this a slip up by GW making a datasheet for a model without looking at the models they produce, or something else I'm missing? I ask this, since to make a standard veteran for DW codex, I would have to buy another kit, to use the left arm to make a veteran with only a boltgun. I know you can make any marine into a deathwatch marine with the upgrade kit, but seems rather silly to make an official DW veteran kit, and not be able to make the standard figure from your own kit.

Also, anyone know what the email for the faq is? I don't use facebook, and there is only the customer service email for GW, and I thought I heard they had a email for FAQ and rules questions only, but not 100% sure about that or not, so thought I would ask Dakka.

Thanks for any feedback or comments.

AFAIK boxes have never been able to make every permutation possible the unit can take. If you want to take just all regular bolters you're going to have to pay/trade for bitz or go one armed. It does seem odd they don't give you the ability to take a full squad of basic gear though.

I can only assume that Boltgun + power weapon was going to be the standard loadout and then the rules team changed their mind for some reason.

You could cut the swords off to get empty handed left arms.

This was already true in 7th when they were released.
The power swords were optional then, too.

Veterans can however take 0pts Chainswords. So there really is no reason to have a Bolter Veteran instead of a Bolter/Chainsword Veteran. Now you just need to scour your bits box or ebay for Chainswords.

thanks Ghaz.

I agree with you guys, strange to make a kit and not make your datasheet match it.

If I had know this would happen I wouldn't have glued the bits together, lol. That is my issue right now, I would have to buy bits for the arms, plus shoulder pads as well.

thanks for the feedback guys.
