I’m looking to build an almost pure imperial knight army was wondering how bad it would hurt me to not have any psykers in my list? I know there is some armies that have little to no psykers

When you fight another army with little psychic power, you'll barely notice a thing.
If you fight a big Psyker army, though, like Thousand Sounds, you will need to dance and stay out of their damage range to avoid getting ripped to shreds.

If you are running Questor Mechanicus you can use Benevolence of the Omnissiah to get a 5+++ against mortal wounds for an entire phase (only 1CP). It really helps against smite spam.
The other option is an auxiliary detachment with a calexus assassin.

You basically cannot stay out, they have at least 24" smite or other MW range and 12" movement. So under any deploent map, they can get you into their range within 2 turns, which means you only have 1 turns to clear out those 60+ Tzaangors screens so you can shoot their Psychic Characters.

Actually, they just got a new stratagem that let's a certain weapon which ignores invulns and doesn't need LoS with the stratagem to fix that...

That one is good if the enemy is taking Soccerors, 2CP for a moderate chances to one shot him. But if those psykers are Daemon Princes, ........ good luck killing one within 2 turns.

you are not hiding demon princes with character rules. Just shoot your RFBC or AVENGER cannon at him no need for missiles.

Daemon Prince is a character with 8W.... like Guilliman, so unless what in front of him is another character, or he cannot be shot at.......

How much damage are these things actually doing to your knights? Normal smite can only really be cast 4-5 times before it gets too hard to cast, and while there are several other MW powers they can only be cast once and some of them are going to be difficult to deny anyway. Meanwhile your units have 24 wounds apiece and are probably not taking much damage outside of those psychic powers. Put another way, do you think you’re going to lose 2 knights before the other ones crash into them?
Taking a culexus might be useful (makes it harder to cast), and there’s probably some kind of one-off denial ability in the codex. TBH I would just make your list as killy as possible and try to win the war of attrition if you do go up against a psychic army.

Psychic powers don't really do much to things with that many wounds. It's uber-charged Magnus or Mortarion you need to worry about: they will chew up your knights and spit them out if they get the charge (and Magnus will, Mortarion will just not die though so it balances out).

Except 1k sons ignore the smite nerf, so they can still spam smite just fine. In 2k you can get 8-10 smites relatively easily, with all the HQs being able to throw out a second power as well (an access to some decent smite alternatives).
But they are the exception rather than the rule, so I'd not worry about it unless your planning a super competitive list. Just make sure you have enough shots to get through the screens quickly.

I thought T-sons ignore the smite rule for their rubrics, who only do 1 MW or max D3

Take a Culexus Assassin if you can find the points. They’re an important component in any IK list, both for anti-Psyker and for objective grabbing.
