I'm trying to figure out how to add an armiger and a warden to my space marine army, just because i like the look of the models. I'm just unsure how detachments work with knights. I saw there's a detachment for 3 knights, but it sounds like they all have to be the larger knights, no armigers, and i only really want one armiger and one knight, so how would i do this detachment-wise?

Super Heavy Detachment. Minimum 3 Super Heavies. Otherwise, you can only take them in singular auxiliary detachments, or supreme commands.

A super heavy detachment requires at least 3 LoW, luckily the Armigers are LoW and are cheaper now. So if you want to add a super heavy, you will need the Warden, and two Armigers to fill it out. I recommend the Helverin variety, they are fast, and can put their fire down even after moving, so they are pretty good for the low points cost.

From the leaks you need 3 non Armiger knights to get any command points from a Super Heavy Detachment but nothing stops you have 1 main knight and 2 Armigers in a battle forged list.

ahh, I must have misunderstood this, i thought they had to all be main knights. Thank you. so sounds like what folks are suggesting with 2 armigers and 1 knight is the way to go.

Follow up question, would this also allow me to choose the knight as my warlord to make him a character and take a warlord trait?

If all aren't bigger no 3cp. For warlord yes

So I’m a little confused. I have 1 Warden, 1 Atrapos and 4 Warglaives. I was under the impression that I could run two Super heavy detachments and get the 6cps. Is this not going to be legal?

Legal yes, getting any CP...no.

So if I wanted to run those 6 models, I’d want to do run the following

SHD
Warden
Atrapos
3xWarglaive

SHAux
Warglaive

And this would get +3 CP (6 total if this was my full army)?

Kind of have to wait for the release, some hints are that the warglaives wont give credit towards the required LoW necessary for CP. Other articles hint that in fact 1 "Big" knight and 2 amigers will indeed meet the requirement. Tough to call atm

No... none of those detachments have 3 non-armiger knights, so you would just have 3CP for being battleforged, and that's it...

So what’s the point of the Armiger if they don’t count towards getting CP? It’s not like they would even be a cheap way to farm it anyway.

They are cheaper, giving you bodies and they are fast compared to your other knights. They are a flanking unit.

Just a quick side question- are armigers eligible for household traits? I mean if you just used 3 armigers in a lord of war auxilary detachment would you be able to use say the house terryn rules on it/them?

Is there any scenario or detachment where Armigers add to the requirement of gaining CP?

We won't know for sure until the codex releases, or we get a full spoiler. Just a few days to go!
