Here is my Speed freaks tournament list. It's a new variation of a list tried the other day. In this I swapped in a bigmek with off on bike and a few bikers in place of tankbustaz and a trukk. I played the list against the Tau and I got multiple first turn charges off. The FAQ change allowing bikers to advance and charge near a biker boss is incredible. I imagine if doing very well against most armies especially elite ones. Zhadsnark being able to charge after advancing is amazing with his S12 klaw that hits on 2s and does mortals on 6s to hit. The tau overwatch was brutal but I still smashed them. They focus fired the tankbustaz hard. I have no real need for a lot of CP since I don't yet have any worthwhile strategems. And besides bikes screaming across the board are just awesome. I needed a invul with only 4+ on bikes so I'm adding the big Mek. See my list what do you think?

Hi, you definitely lack bodies. 4 characters at 1000 points are too many but also nob bikers are very expensive.

I'd bring a couple of units of trukks boyz, zhad, tankbustas in a trukk, bikes and maybe 1-2 skorchas instead, a third trukk of boyz or a warboss on a bike. Something like that:

Zhadsnark
Warboss with killchoppa and bike
2x12 boyz, nob with big choppa
3x3 bikes
7 tankbustas with 2 bomb squigs
3 trukks with big shootas

Alternatively

Zhadsnark
3x12 boyz, nob with big choppa
7 tankbustas with 2 bomb squigs
3 bikes
1 skorcha
1 buggy with twin big shootas
4 trukks with big shoota

Yeah I know I should have more bodies but I've been resisting. I enjoyed the fast game I had the other day.I've used the tankbustaz against most people in my meta. They focus fire them quickly and end up going to waste. I love them but they haven't been able to do anything recently. The nobs are expensive but T5 with 3 wounds and a 5++ has so far insured they make it to CC. D2 weapons still need to wound each nob twice to kill one. I was trying to avoid regular boys because I feel they are too numerous and somewhat cliche. I'll make some changes.

Is this better? Still speed freaky and I have a ton of AOBR boys I could convert.

Hey I preferrred the previous list minus the painboy. I do think that the storm boys are a nice addition but everyone runs tankbustas and that seem quite boring. I would say keep all the fast things and add power klaws where possible.
Could even put a burnabomber or dakkajet in and still keep the theme. The below example is 999 and you can switch things to get what you want probably.

What's the 5++ about nob bikers? They have a 4+ save, not an invuln or FNP. Do you mean the KFF aura? It works only in the shooting phase and anything can benefit from it, even trukks. A trukk full of bustas can be focussed down but with the 5++ and the 1000 points format it means that all the other multiwounds fast units should be untouched. The same amount of anti tank can melt the nob bikers squad as well or cripple multiple min squads of warbikers.

Speed freaks lists are very fun to play, I'd only suggest to bring just 2 HQs at 1000 points. The flyer could be a nice addition and stormboyz are certainly amazing and fit the theme of the army.

I was talking about the kff and just against shooting. The idea is to charge first and mitigate some of the damage back. I do have two dakkajets I could put one in here. I just bought the bits yesterday to build the kff Mek on bike as right now I only have one on foot. I know 3 hq is expensive but Zhadsnark really pulls his weight being able to charge turn 1. I cannot advance and charge him without a biker boss near by and I need that 5++ from the Mek to get my units through overwatch. I guess more bodies would screen him against most shooting. I'll have to think on it. I dont expect to win the tournament but I'd like to win a couple games .

Here is my new list idea. Lol the only problem is I have to convert 30 AOBR boys by the end of the month. I have ideas on how to make the rocket packs of plastic tubes and bits. Just need to find the time with a young family and two jobs.

Yea I find Nobz on bikes to be a complete waste of points. Warbikes aren't far off but they're kinda key (in my mind) to a Speed Freakz list.

It's also worth noting that you can't bring 3 x 3 units that aren't troops in a competitive setting at anything less than 2000 points, so the 3 x 3 Warbikers (which is exactly what I used to run at 1k points) is technically illegal for matched play.

I ran a semi successful list like so at 1k (and it kinda felt Speed Freaky) -

Zhadsnark
2 x Big Mek w/ KFF

3 x 10 Boyz - 1 Nob has PK, other Nobz are naked, 1 Rokkit Boy (why not?)

5 x Nobz - all with runts, one with PK, 2 with Big Choppa, 1 with Kombi Rokkit/Skorcha
Trukk with Rokkit

5 x Warbikes with Nob and PK
4 x Warbikes with Nob and BC

You can drop a Mek with KFF and the Trukk and throw in a Dakkajet, which probably isn't as competitive but is a bit more FUN.

I didn't know I couldn't bring the 3x3. Where is that rule an FAQ?

Latest FAQ states it pretty clearly. It's in the same section as the 'rule of 3'.

I must be reading that differently. It says I can't use more then 3 of a particular data sheet at 1k-2k. In which case I can use this list because I only use 3 biker squads and 1 stormboyz squad. It does not limit troops however. Otherwise I don't see any other disqualifying statement in there.

You got it, I only know this because I had to do the exact same thing lol.

Ok new updated list. I found a bunch of fuel tank and missle bits from the ork flyer kits on my bits box. I'm going to use them to convert the stormboyz. I have a lot of work to do before the 30th.
