Does the Sally Forth Strategem ignore the current rules for reinforcements? As in, does the Knight placed have to be in your own deployment zone turn 1?

No, this Stratagem does not ignore the Matched Play Reinforcements rules.

To flip it around, why would you think that it is exempt? Nothing in the special rule indicates that it is. If you're using the Beta Tactical Reserves rule, it's locked to your deployment zone turn 1 just like everything else.

If the knight started off table it would have to be placed in your own deployment zonr using matched play rules.
