I quite enjoy the book. However, two things I am not sure of. One is the fact the Dark Angel new and shiny Terminator suits seem to outmatch the Cataphracts worn by the Night Lords by a huge margin. The second is Belial.

In this novel, Belial (which I assume is the same Belial in the Codex, given the fact a lot of attention is given to him) is a 1st Company Terminator Sergeant. However, the Codex clearly states that Belial was Captain of another Company before being promoted to Grand Master of the 1st Company.

Did Gav Thorpe forget to read to material when he wrote this? I find it a bit jarring if there are 2 Belials in the same company but different people.

No reason he couldn't have been made master of a company after a stint in the Deathwing as a sergeant.

He was a Captain of another company but for Grand Master of the Deathwing or Ravenwing I think they have to be captains before they are made Grand Master.

As for Indomatus Terminator armor beating out Cataphracti, it makes sense. in a close quarters situation the indomatus suit proably has an egde being much faster and manuverable, with a minimum loss of protection

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

They could still make Cataphracti armour if they wanted as no space marine armour were STC designs, they were made and improved on, so I think there is a good reason why they made the Indomatus. Like already said Cataphracti was slow and limiting in movement.
