With bikes getting constant upgrades or points drops, and the existence of the Outrider detachment, GW decided bikes could no longer be "Troops"
With a Battalion giving +5CP, there is no reason to take an Outrider for a measly +1CP. So full-on bike armies have disappeared.
Now there are some bike untis that are still very good options, such as Eldar Shining Spears or Necron Tomb Blades, but you don't build a whole army around those anymore.

Pretty much screwing over white scars
"But White Scarz aren't alwayz Bikerz and there Tacticial Marinez!!!!!!!1!"
Yes very true. I don't understand your need to exclaim with 15 ecxlemation marks are you offended? Wait don't answer that.
Alot of white scars players could now have unuseble bikes. I feel bad for them.
I
they're plenty usable, they're just not "best in slot" anymore

I don’t see anything wrong with having trade offs for taking a full bike army. It’s still possible, you just don’t get a lot of Command Points but that’s the same as any other (non-troops non-SH) spam army I can think of. Detachment system means you can build nearly any kind of army in 8th. Even an army made of pure cancer *glances at double Alaitoc flyer wing lists*.

Honestly Vanilla Bikers really aren't usable. You can get Special Weapon spam delivered by other means, and they're fighting against actual good units in the slot like Tarantula Sentry Guns and Scout Bikers.
You didn't take them in the Fast Attack slot back in previous editions either because, while they were a terrible Fast Attack choice, they made a good Troop choice along with your Scouts so you didn't feel like you were paying a Troop tax. You actually wanted them.
Once a unit fails to fulfill a niche, it ceases to have a point.

This maybe off topic, but does the can't go upstairs to claim objectives or charge is only true for bikes, or is it true for jetbikes too. Because I had my units charged by eldar spear jetbikers, when they were on the 3ed floor.

If you have to kill, then kill in the best manner. If you slaughter, then slaughter in the best manner. Let one of you sharpen his knife so his animal feels no pain. |

If you fly you can ignore terrain while moving.

Though I'm pretty sure you still have to actually be able to place the bikes in the building for them to be in fight range, which can be difficult for the obvious reasons.

The best biker unit in 8th edition is the Harlequin Jestbikes, fast like supersonic plane, all can fall back and shoot / charge normally, hit like a rape train and all have 4++ and natural -1 to hit. and have dirt cheap cost for what they can do.

The "special" detachments (Elite, Fast Attack, Heavy Support, should be upgrade to give you +2 CP now that batallions give you +5 CP.
Maybe +3CP would be ok too, but maybe would be too much.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.
