They will be more expensive than Witch Elves. And they will change squad loadouts, so that veteran players can´t use their old minis.

Not sure how they can change sisters from bolters, flamers, and meltas - which are pretty much all the old models have.

What is more likely to go wrong is that the new models will look a bit 'off' next to the old models, like putting rogue-trader era marines next to the current tactical squad. Then they just need to throw in some fantastic new piece of wargear and SoB players will need to pick up the whole new squad of bolters to stand alongside it or have their squads look oddly mismatched.

Also has GW ever really done this? There are still loads of legacy armies in current use around the world for all other factions in the game. The only army that has ever really suffered is Tyranids when new rules make weapon combos invalid/illegal and that's partly because tryanids can take multiple weapon types on the same model.

Absolutely they will, while the metals will stay the same price the total cost of the army will fall dramatically, most of the army will be plastic sisters and likely converted plastic sisters to replace the characters made of metal.

Will new models go down in price?

*Laughs in GW*

To many unpainted models to count.

Right just like how GW did the same when they redid Necrons, Grey Knights and Dark Eldar. O'wait they didn't do that because they didn't want to alienate existing players and knew people would buy the new range anyway? I get that GW can be a gak company sometimes but the level of cynicism in this thread has me question why some people post or continue to play this game if they are that negative about it.

I believe that everything else is, as per the course, rampant speculation.
GW said the new SoB rules will be included as a beta in CA 2018.

They have screwed CSM players in the past. Death Guard Terminators can´t use power fists. Is that prove enough for you?

I think we've strayed a bit far from the main topic.....

I'd look to the Death Guard example: Plague Marines have all of the old wargear options, but also have a number of shiny new things that are more strictly tied to their Nurgly identity. Sisters may have the option to take regular meltaguns but also have super special Sisters-only meltas that shoot holy fire or something.

Yeah, but based on historical precedent, those will suck, and people will stick with what they've been using for 20 years.

No one knows how big the sisters release will be- will it include ministorum units or only sororitas?

The scope of the release will have a tremendous impact. My biggest concern is repentia. They are the unit mostly likely to be replaced with models which are out of synch with the current aesthetic.

Sisters will look good, no matter what they cost.

Repentia, if they get replaced at all, may not look the same.

I would say the same about Penitent Engines, but like I said, we don't know ministorum units will be covered.

As difficult as it may be to imagine, Sisters players do not all belong to a single gestalt hive mind, and as a result may not all share the same opinion on a given topic.

Hope is the first step to disappointment.

Though seriously, GW tends to have the propensity to take a deep swing at something, and then just miss.

F’ex, I could imagine those “super special” meltas would have a rule on 6’s they deal mortal wounds - and cost less than regular meltas. Just so everyone can give Sister players a hard time about the broken weapon no one actually takes.

I'd not be at all suprised to see some additional special weapons options to try and enchourage sisters players with a soldi metal army to snap up some of the new boxes, this is pretty typical whenever GW redoes anything, SM tac squads and dev squads got grav last time they where updated for example.

What historical precedent? Blight Launchers are pretty good, and would see play if Plague Marines themselves were an efficient unit. You don't run Rubric Marines without a soulreaper cannon in the unit, and when they were released grav weapons were ridiculous.

I don't know - the sisters players seem generally positive about the new models. Celestine was certainly well received, it's not as if anyone posted 'oh no, my old metal celestine is invalid now'

I have a couple of illegal CSM options (all claw defiler build, a CSM with a bolter, bolt pistol and chainsword (and three arms to hold everything) that were invalidated by the "no model, no rules" but GW seems to be easing off and allowing kitbashing based on the TS Defiler being able to take Lascannons (haven't checked to see if the regular one can as well).
