Really mulling over whether integrating Ynnari into my DE/Craftworld force is worth it. Soulburst seems like a neat buff, though considering a Ynnari needs to be your war lord and the warlord needs to be from your highest CP detachment (need to rule check this, I think it was a FAQ but if its not true it makes things easy), I'm not so sure...

Because the CW and DE buffs seem too good to pass on (I've heard good things about soul burst but haven't read the specifics myself yet to be sure), the easiest way I could think of to do this would be using DE with its faction less models: Incubi, Mandrakes, Scourge ect. However in the interest of CP points, running a brigade seems most beneficial. With DE I would be missing out on an extra 6 inches in shooting (which I really don't want to pass up on), so that leaves Eldar. I wouldn't mind making 3 squads of rangers Ynnari, as I feel like the Alaitoc buff on them would be overkill, however I also like to run a large blob of guardians and two ranger squads, for which Alaitoc or Ulthwe feel like the better choice, and doing Ynnari would require losing those buffs, so I want to ask y'alls opinion on Ynnari over Craftworld buff wise.

My 3 options are 1: run no detachment worth more than 1 CP, 2: Just accept the guardians are SOL (or realize how good soulburst is, maybe its better?), or 3: Invest in more ranger squads (or use a dire avenger squad, but it seems they are over costed atm...)

As an afterthought, what units would you all prefer as Ynnari over Craftworld or DE?

Ynnari. I just love the idea of all of the Eldar factions coming together to form one army. I love all of their different vehicles and models... Craftworlds, Drukhari, Harlequins, and Corsairs). It's just a really big shame that Forgeworld pulled the Corsair upgrade kits from their site :(

Edit: Also love The Yncarne, The Visarch, and especially Yvraine models!

I love the ability to just get the models from all 3 factions I like. I need to buy the triumvirate so my list is actually legal. but in my local group it's not really a problem as I'm the only one interested in ynarri. I think they're my loose-coalition of eldar that tolerate each other for the betterment and not death spiral of their race. if it wasn't for ynnead they'd start fighting amongst themselves.

it also give you flexibility in list construction. add in more X units maybe some Y etc.

I'm the opposite. No interest in the new faction or the characters, and not a big fan of soup of any sort. Is that a handicap? Probably.

For list building I thought that the units with their own codex had to be in separate detachments?

Ynnari have an exception, because most of their units come from different codexes. There are only 3 Ynnari models, all special character Hqs

The 3 characters have an exception in their rules, but Ynnari as an army don't.

The only reason to ever go Ynnari is to get big squads of Dark Reapers or Shining Spears to shoot/fight twice otherwise if you really want to soup your just better off taking indavidual detachments from their respective codecies.

I don't really know.

Whilst I like the idea of Ynnari, I think the model lines clash too much from a purely aesthetic perspective. I've rather see dedicated Ynaari models with a blending of it. I think in the future that is inevitably what we'll see, but for now? Ehh.

Like the Yncarne.
My opponent playing Khorne Bezerkers got nuts. It was a wipe-out after 5 rounds.
Yncarne was the star of the show.
But this was before the SfD rule change.
Now I'more into CW.
