I've been playing since 7th and have recently started collecting chaos. I ran a full bike squad of renegade chapter marines armed with chainswords, and with the help of psychic, moved them 40" and got off a good first turn charge. Problem was, they only had chainswords -_- I'd like to imagine chosen on bikes coming in with all kinds of power weapons or chain axes at the very least. Have Chosen Bikers ever been a unit? I know that space marines can take company veterans on bikes that can take whatever they want, so why can't chaos?

Chosen are basically just regular Chaos Marines +1 (as in +1 attack and leadership and access to more specials inside of a single unit).

Sadly no jump packs or bikes.

Chaos chosen on bikes existed. There is a codex that some people call not only the best chaos codex ever, but the best codex of any kind. That came out in third edition, and it was replaced with a bad one, and just like most other codexes there were two really spammy lists you saw all the time.

Anyway, chosen could all be upgraded to champions who all had wargear access, and there were a few people who built units entirely out of chosen champions with bikes and power weapons. It was also possible to make them all sorcerors riding disks of tzeentch, which may have been cheaper, or slaanesh champions riding steeds of slaanesh. They were all fifty point models with four attacks each but only one wound, it wasn’t competitive.

But no, chaos bikes have almost never been good.

I've argued that the basic Chaos Marine profile needs to be removed and all the power armor CSM units get Vet stats at minimum.

You don't need to remove it to buff it.

No, the basic entry needs to be removed and Chosen become the standard troop choice. It'll help differentiate the Marines armies better.

I'm sure GW will do you one better and release Chaos Primaris sooner or later! (It's been teased that Fabulous Bill is working on it). Once that happens, expect all attention to be on them instead of basic boys.

I really hope so! That would finally make me start a chaos army.

And of course they'll need Chaos Repulsors because they can't ride in Rhinos for whatever reason.

No, you haven´t thought it through. CSM won´t get a repulsor but a dinobot in form of a brontosaurus. It will come equipped with a howdah and only Uber-CSM may ride along. Though the Iron Warriors may upgrade the howdah to a renegade container (enclosed vehicle) which is covered in heretic graffitti and is armed with a terrifying kombi-bolter. Sigh.

More weird stuff? Take into account the following new Slaanesh wargear:

Chewing Tobacco
Point Cost: 0
Effect: Turns the character into a sexual tyrannosaurus.

Note: Only a bunch of slack-jawed weirdos will not use this wargear.

Honestly I could get behind the idea of another Chaos Dino and this one is transportation.

Can you upgrade to a "goddamn sexual tyrannosaurus." for an extra 2 points?

I disagree. Chosen are supposed to be "chosen" by their patron gods and granted enchancements over the basic traitor.

We just need to give CSM the Primaris statline, and Chosen take an extra attack and LD over that. They'd hit like the monsters they should be, be harder to drop and generally work properly on the table better.

These are supposed to be the Vets of Long War. These guys are supposed to be that battle hardened. The basic Space Marine profile doesn't reflect this whatsoever. Any "blessings" now are just strictly keywords.

Also for those that whine "What about Renegades?": Renegades should've been represented in the Vanilla codex by changing keywords. Simple as that. A Chapter suddenly going renegade doesn't grant their Terminators Autocannons and make them lose their Assault Cannons. They don't suddenly lose their Land Speeders and Land Raider Crusaders.

If anything Renegades probably need their own Codex to really show them properly, but the Chaos Codex isn't the way to do it.

I agree with your sentiment about Renegades, but it really isn't a practical issue. You CAN just use the Space Marine codex and choose RENEGADE as your keyword already if you want.

Unless you really suggesting these Renegades also need to be CHAOS? If so I think that is a bad idea, as you're essentially giving chaos everything that makes loyalist Marines unique, on top of what they already have.

Are you kidding me? Be careful what you wish for. Okay, it´s official then. CSM will get their warpspawned Brontosaurus before Orkz even get their Squiggoth. It´s a pity but Orkz are accustomed to this treatment by now because they are just a npc race.

Let´s spice this new unit up with a few special rules, shall we?

Yabba Dabba Doo!

Point cost: +5/model

Legal units: Any CSM infantry unit wearing power armour.

Illegal units: Berzerkers. Why? The red marines always revved up their chainsword prior to the sliding which only resulted in injuring themselves and the brontosaurus in the process. Other reason: Gotta nerf these guys!

Fluff: A CSM infantry unit was trained by a caveman from a remote town called Rockbed to disembark from their gigantic mount in a swift & flamboyant fashion. The huge beast lowers it´s neck and the traitors start sliding down one after the other like Legolas on dope. As the sliding CSM approaches the head of the monster with breakneck speed, it will raise it´s brain box as part of it´s conditioning to allow the renegade to hurtle through the air at his enemies with a bloodcurdling scream on his lips.

Effect: A CSM infantry unit embarked on the Brontosaurus at the start of the game MUST be given this special rule. ONLY units with this special rule may embark the Brontosaurus later in the game. The transported unit may disembark even after the Brontosaurus moved. Place the disembarking unit 12´´ away from the Brontosaurus. The disembarked unit may even engage enemy units in close combat in the same turn. As the disembarking unit is supposed to jump through the air while disembarking, it may be moved as if it were equipped with jump packs.

Hazard: The CSM player has to utter the phrase Yabba Dabba Doo! in a loud manner so that everyone in his FLGS know what he is up to BEFORE disembarking his unit. After he has made an ass of himself, he may proceed with the game. His exclamation shows the time and effort which his warped marines took to learn this special deployment technique. But if he forgets to utter the phrase and deploys his marines, the opponent may call him out. The CSM opponent may now immediately roll a D6 for each disembarked passenger: On a roll of 2+ the model in question suffers a mortal wound.

Eye of the Gods: Roll two D6 and add them together immediately after a CSM unit disembarked with a proper Yabba Dabba Doo! scream on their lips: On a roll of 2 the Dark Gods have been deeply impressed by their performance and decided to whisk the unit immediately away from the battlefield to a circus on a forlorn daemon world where they have to perform their maneuver for all eternity. A unit removed from play in this way does not yield victory points to the opponent.

Bronto Burgers

Point cost: +1/model

Legal units: Chaos cultists.

Illegal units: Any other unit from the Chaos codex.

Fluff: The Chaos cultist unit was trained to process a fallen Brontosaurus on the battlefield into tasty Bronto Burgers. Nothing goes to waste in the grim future of the 41st millenium!

Effect: A Brontosaurus unit which has been removed from play will not yield victory points to the opponent as long as a Chaos cultist unit with the Bronto Burgers SR is still present on the battlefield at the end of the game.

Lecker Schmackofatz: Only applicable during campaign play. You gain a Bronto Burger token after a battle in which your cultists succeeded in processing a removed Brontosaurus. A removed brontosaurus may only be processed once. You MUST assign this token to an infantry unit which is composed of CSM. Bikers & vehicles always use other fast food drive-ins and are therefore NOT eligible to receive this tasty treat. Each Bronto Burger token effect lasts only for the next battle. After that battle ends, the effect is gone.

A unit which is assigned a Bronto Burgers token will reduce Battleshock by 1 in their next battle by each assigned token. Reduce the movement stat & the roll for charge distance for each additional Bronto Burger token assigned to the same unit by 1.
